Yurasov Continues to Climb

Nível 3 : 150/300, 25 ante
Dmitry Yurasov
Dmitry Yurasov

Dmitry Yurasov has a reputation as being an active player, which means when he's playing well and catching cards he's a formidable foe.

In a recent hand, Yurasov opened for 700 from the hijack and received calls from Steve O'Dwyer and Ludovic Lacay on the button and small blind respectively. When the flop came down {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, Lacay checked, Yurasov bet 1,200, and O'Dwyer called.

After Lacay folded, the {Q-Clubs} turned and Yurasov bet 2,800. O'Dwyer called once again to see the {10-Clubs} appear on the river. Yurasov slowed down with a check, and O'Dwyer wasted little time in tossing out a blue T5,000 chip.

Yurasov thought for a bit before making the call with the {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for ace high, and it proved a wise choice as O'Dwyer had missed his straight draw with the {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}.

As you can see, Lacay is on a short stack. We're not sure how it happened, but since Yurasov has two pink T25,000 chips and Lacay has none, we're guessing the two must have clashed in an earlier pot.

Muhlocker With The Nuts

Nível 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier opened the action to 625 and got two callers in Thomas Muhlocker and Sergio Aido. Then, Jonathan Karamalikis three-bet to 2,400 and all opponents except for the Frenchman called. On the {9-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop the three of them checked, the {10-Clubs} turn saw the EPT10 Barcelona High Roller champion from Austria bet 6,000.

Aido called and then bet big on the river {5-Diamonds} after Muhlocker had checked to him. The Austrian moved all in and was called after about 30 seconds. Showdown:

Muhlocker: {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Aido: {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

We have our second seat open in level three already and Thomas Muhlocker is off to a decent start.

One for Petruzzelli

Nível 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

With 5,000 or so in the pot and a board reading {4-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}, EPT9 Barcelona third-place finisher Joni Jouhkimainen bet 2,200 from the small blind only to have Italian Federico Petruzzelli raise to 7,100 from the button. The Finn gave it some thought but eventually conceded the hand.

It wasn't much of a pot, but it gave us a good excuse to update you on both their chip counts.

Chen vs. Petersen

Nível 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

With 14,600 in the pot and a flop of {9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, Team Online's Mickey Petersen bet 7,000 from the hijack and Andrew Chen called him from the cutoff. After the dealer burned and turned the {8-Diamonds}, Petersen put out another bet, this time 12,000, and it did the trick as Chen released his hand.

Maimone Runs Out of Chips

Nível 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

We didn't see the action but Team PokerStars Pro Jonathan Duhamel told us about the elimination of Nick Maimone. Of course it was once again Andrea Dato. They both saw the {8-}{7-}{7-} flop and Maimone hit the rail with the {J-}{8-} against the {10-}{7-} of the Italian. He can still reenter once though.
