Kurganov Gets It in Once Again

Nível 16 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Hand #23: Daniel Colman moved all in from the small blind with the {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} to put the pressure on a still short-stacked Igor Kurganov, who folded his {10-}{8-}.

Hand #24: Rono Lo raised to 79,000 with the {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} in the cutoff only to have Igor Kurganov moved all in for 367,000 with the {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} in the small blind. Ole Schemion then woke up with the {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} in the big blind, and he made the call. Lo thought for a good spell before folding, and Kurganov discovered the bad news.

Schemion was a 67% favorite, but then the flop came down the {4-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{5-Spades} to give Kurganov two pair. The {4-Hearts} turn made it a full house, and the {5-Clubs} river gave him the double in what turned out to be the last hand of the level.

Kurganov Doubles Through Phua

Hand #22: Igor Kurganov open shoved for 164,000 under the gun with {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Under the gun plus two it was Paul Phua who showed interest. Phua had {A-Spades}{K-Spades} and isolated to 364,000. All other players folded and the first all in show down was at hand.

"I am confident my short stack will go on forever" Kurganov laughed.

And well, so far he's right. The {2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} on the flop didn't help him, but the {Q-Clubs} on the turn did. The river was a blank with an eight and Kurganov doubled up.

He's still the short stack, but he has some breathing room.

Blinds And Antes

Nível 16 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Hand #19: Ole Schemion opened the cutoff for 70,000 holding {K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. It delivered him the blinds and antes as everybody folded.

Hand #20: Daniel Colman opened under the gun plus one with {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} for 70,000. Eveybody folded and Colman won his first hand.

Hand #21: Paul Phua opened for 70,000 from the hijack with {A-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Rono Lo in the big blind was the only one thinking about it with {A-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, but folded eventually. Phua took the blinds and antes.

Five High Rolling Hands

Nível 16 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Hand #14: Ole Schemion raised to 60,000 from the under-the-gun position with the {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and the rest of the players folded.

Hand #15: Dan Cates opened for 60,000 from early position with the {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Ole Schemion defended from the big blind with the {k-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. The {6-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop went check-check, and then Schemion semi-bluffed his gutshot with a bet of 100,000. Cates didn't want any part of it and folded his hand.

Hand #16: Dan Cates loked down at the {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} under the gun and raised to 60,000. Richard Yong, who was next to act, played the {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} slow by just limping. The rest of the players folded and it was heads-up action tot he {j-Clubs}{6-Spades}{k-Spades} flop. Cates checked, Yong bet 100,000, and Cates folded. That's twice now in the first 16 hands that players have correctly ditched pocket nines.

Hand #17: Richard Yong raised to 62,000 under the gun with the {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. Daniel Cates defended his big blind with the {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}, and the flop fell {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Cates checked, Yong continued for 50,000, and "Jungleman" folded.

Hand #18: Ole Schemion raised to 70,000 from the cutoff with the {k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and won the blinds.

Cates And Lo Tangle

Nível 16 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Hand #13: Dan Cates in the hijack opened for 60,000 holding {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Olivier Busquet on the button made the call with {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Rono Lo came along from the big blind with {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

Everybody had a pair on {6-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs} but all of them checked. They also checked on the {Q-Diamonds}-turn. The river came the {3-Hearts} and Lo checked to Cates. The American player bet out 90,000 and Busquet quickly folded. Lo showed interest though, and called after some thinking.

Cates wasn't sure who had to show first, and didn't show his hand at all after Lo tabled the ace-nine.

Pre Flop Action

Nível 16 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Hand #11: Schemion opened the hijack for 70,000 with {K-Spades}{3-Spades}. Richard Yong in the small blind made it 210,000 with {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. Busquet quickly folded his big blind, Schemion gave up the chips already invested.

Hand #12: Igor Kurganov shoved for 168,000 from the hijack holding {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. Though it wasn't much, it was enough to make everybody fold and he took the blinds and antes to get up to 245,000.

The Schemion Shuffle

Nível 16 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Hand #10: Ole Schemion raised to 72,000 from the cutoff with the {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} and Richard Yong, who likes to defend, called from the big blind with the {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. The {k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop was kind to Yong, but he checked to the raiser, who checked behind.

The dealer then burned and turned the {Q-Hearts} to give Schemion a set and leave Yong drawing dead, though he didn't know it. Yong checked, Schemion bet 105,000, and Yong called. Yong checked for a third time on the {9-Hearts} river, and Schemion bet it for value to the tune of 266,000. Yong made the call and watched a good portion of his stack pushed over to the German wunderkind.

Lo Limps Another Monster

Nível 16 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Hand #9: Lo limped under the gun plus two for 30,000 with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}, and Schemion over limped on the button holding {Q-Spades}{4-Spades}. Paul Phua completed from the small blind with {J-Clubs}{10-Spades}, Daniel Cates checked his big blind with {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}.

Both blinds checked on {5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Lo bet out 54,000. Schemion calledwith queen-high, Phua folded his hand, Cates made the call holding second pair.

The turn was the {Q-Hearts} and Cates and Lo checked to Schemion. Schemion, having just hit top pair, bet out 111,000. Cates instantly folded, but Lo took his time. He picked up 111,000, added 200,000, and raised it up to 311,000 total.

Schemion thought about it for a good time. The pot, worth 736,000 by now, was pushed Lo's way after Schemion mucked his hand.

Phua Avoids Blind-vs-Blind Disaster

Nível 16 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Hand #8: Action folded around to Ole Schemion in the small blind and he just limped with the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. Paul Phua, who was unfortunate enough to wake up with the {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} in the big, then raised to 80,000. Schemion wasted little time in three-betting to 240,000, and that inspired Phua to four-bet to 480,000.

Schemion sat silently for about a minute and then slid out a five-bet to 800,000. At this point Phua seemed to know something was up, and after thinking about it for a short time, he laid down his hand.
