Noah Schwartz Eliminated in 6th Place (€166,000)

Noah Schwartz - 6th Place
Noah Schwartz - 6th Place

Philipp Gruissem raised to 51,000 in first position, Igor Kurganov called, one seat to his left, Justin Bonomo called on the button and Noah Schwartz made up the quartet from the big blind.

Flop: {8-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {3-Clubs}

Not the most impressive looking flop, but one that sparked a few fireworks nonetheless. Gruissem checked, Kurganov bet 144,000, Bonomo folded and Schwartz moved all-in for 460,000. Gruissem was next and he didn't even think about it as he slid his chips across the line. So that was two red "all-in" triangles on the table, would there be a third? Kurganov asked the dealer if he could use pen and paper to work out his maths, but was told to use his head. Use his head he did and he mucked his hand. It was showdown time with Schwartz at risk of elimination.

Gruissem: {A-Clubs} {9-Clubs}
Schwartz: {8-Hearts} {5-Clubs}

So it was Schwartz ahead, with the two pair, and Gruissem searching for a club.

Turn: {7-Spades} & River: {J-Clubs}

Gruissem gets there on the river and Schwartz is out, earning €166,000.

Schwartz didn't quite share an opinion about busting out of a tournament, but he did share his opinion on other topics with Lynn Gilmartin during a break yesterday.

No Queen? No Good?

Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu raised to 52,000 in first position and Noah Schwartz called on the button. Igor Kurganov asked Schwartz how much he was playing, Schwartz told him 610,000 and Kurganov joined the fray.

Flop: {A-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}

The action checked to Schwartz who bet 113,000 and only Negreanu made the call.

Turn: {K-Clubs}

Negreanu decided to lead this time and his bet was 216,000 and with 475,000 behind Schwartz decided to fold.

Two Little Ducks For Negreanu

Igor Kurganov raised to 47,000 in the hijack seat and Daniel Negreanu called in the cutoff. The flop was {10-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} and Kurganov bet 75,000. Negreanu went into his stack and came out with a raise to 162,000 and Kurganov called. Both players checked the {3-Hearts} turn before we saw the {A-Hearts} on the river and once again play was checked by both parties.

"I have two-pair," said Negreanu who turned over {2-Hearts} {2-Spades} and Kurganov mucked his hand.

Cold Five-Bet from Bonomo

Nível 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Justin Bonomo just pulled off one of the rarest poker plays ever seen, the cold five-bet. And he did so in the €25,000 High Roller with just six players left.

From the hijack seat, Philipp Gruissem raised to 51,000. In the next spot, Igor Kurganov reraised to 125,000 from the cutoff seat. Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu four-bet to 255,000 from the button and then Justin Bonomo began to tank in the small blind. Eventually, he five-bet for all of the biscuits and declared, "I'm all in."

One by one, everyone folded their hands and Bonomo won the pot. Negreanu showed the {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} and said, "I'm either beat or that was one heck of a play." Bonomo is back into the chip lead now.

Nathan Schoo Eliminated in 7th Place (€133,000)

Nathan Schoo - 7th Place
Nathan Schoo - 7th Place

The recently-crippled Nathan Schoo moved all in from the hijack seat for his last 44,000 — less than two big blinds. Action then folded to Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu in the small blind and he called. Justin Bonomo called from the big blind.

The flop came down {A-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Negreanu bet 55,000. Bonomo quickly folded and Negreanu was left to try and eliminate Schoo on his own.

Schoo showed the {J-Spades}{8-Clubs}, which wasn't in good shape against the {A-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for Negreanu. After the turn {5-Diamonds}, Schoo was drawing dead and then the river completed the board with the {10-Diamonds} to officially eliminate him.

Schoo earned €133,000 for his finish and Negreanu moved his way into the chip lead.

Schwartz Doubles Through Schoo

Nath Schoo was just crippled down to less than two big blinds after losing a flip against Noah Schwartz. Action folded to Schwartz in the hijack seat and he raised to 302,000 and was all in. Schoo reraised all in for 349,000 and everyone else folded.

Schwartz showed the {Q-Spades}{J-Spades} and was flipping with the {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for Schoo. Time to race, boys.

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Schwartz's two pair won him the hand. He's now over 600,000 while Schoo was left with just about nothing.
