Levine On the Rise

Nível 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Thomas Levine and Mark Radoja got their chips in against each other. Levine had {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}{A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} while Radoja had {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Clubs}. We're unsure when the chips went in, but the board ran out {Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and Levine busted Radoja with the rivered full house, rendering Radoja's flopped flush useless.

Levine also won a sizable pot off Samuli Sipila. Sipila, who won another omaha tournament here earlier this Aussie Millions, raised to 3,500 and Levine called in position. Sipila bet 4,500 on {2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{K-Spades} and Levine called. Both then checked the {5-Diamonds} on the turn before Sipila bet 6,500 on the {8-Diamonds} river. Levine raised to 20,000 and Sipila folded.

Laak and Ramakrishnan Chop Up Timoshenko

Nível 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Yevgeniy Timoshenko is no longer with us and Phil Laak was kind enough to tell us his bust out hand.

According to Laak he was on the button and Timoshenko and Raj Ramakrishnan were in the blinds on a {k-Diamonds}{j-}{10-} flop.

All three players got all the chips in the middle on a {x-Diamonds} turn with Laak and Ramakrishnan holding {a-}{q-} for Broadway. Timoshenko had {q-}{9-}{x-Diamonds}{x-Diamonds} for a smaller straight with a diamond redraw but did not get there and Laak and Ramakrishnan chopped up his chips.

Jonathan Abdellatif 'Bluffs' One by the Book

Nível 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

We caught the action on the turn with a sizable pot brewing in a three-way hand between Jonathan Abdellafif in middle position, a player sitting in the cutoff and Dzmitry Urbanovich on the button.

With the board reading {2-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs} {4-Hearts} Abdellatif had checked it over to the cutoff, who fired out a half pot bet of 5,000. Urbanovich called, as did Abdellatif keeping the action three-way to the {8-Diamonds} river.

Abdellatif now led for 17,500 and while the player in the cutoff looked interested the 20-second shot clock ran down and he folded with just 2 seconds to spare, as did Urbanovich.

"Nice bluff mate," said the cutoff.

"You can call next time and see for yourself," retorted Abdellatif.

"Nah, the book says fold," replied the cutoff. Abdellatif seemed happy enough with the result so maybe he is reading some different literature.

Daniel Demicki
Daniel Demicki

Daniel Demicki, who won this event last year for AUD$98,980, got his chips in before the flop against Mark Radoja in a hijack (Radoja) versus button (Demicki) situation.

Daniel Demicki: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Mark Radoja: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The board ran out {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} and Demicki's straight earned him the double-up.

Timoshenko Ticking Over

Nível 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Phil Laak and Yevgeniy Timoshenko are neighbors currently and have been tangling in quite a few blind versus blind battles. This seems to have been working out better for Timoshenko better than it has for Laak - earlier he had four dark blue 5k chips in front of him but these are now at the bottom of Timoshenko's stack.

We caught the two players embroiled in yet another blind versus blind confrontation with 5,000 in the pot and the community cards reading {6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} {j-Hearts}

Both players checked it through on the turn with the {5-Hearts} landing on the river, which Laak checked over to Timoshenko.

The Ukranian player fired out a half pot bet of 2,500, which Laak quickly called but just as quickly mucked his hand when Timoshenko rolled over {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for the rivered straight.

Abdellatif Hits Lucky Queen to Double

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Jonathan Abdellatif raised before the flop and got called in one spot. Abdellatif potted again on {J-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Spades} and got it in against his opponent. Abdellatif showed {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for bottom two pair but he was in trouble against the {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs} his opponent revealed. The {Q-Spades} hit the turn, helping Abdellatif to an unbeatable hand and the {4-Diamonds} river blanked.

Kenney Still Going

Nível 7 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Bryn Kenney is keeping himself in contention and has just taken down a hand against Sam Greenwood.

Preflop it was Greenwood who was the initial aggressor, opening to 2,500 from the cutoff. Kenney, sitting on the button, threw in a tickly little re-raise to 4,000 in total that had Greenwood scratching his head but he did call and it was off to the flop of {2-Hearts}{q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}.

Checks from both players took the action to the {a-Diamonds} turn and after Greenwood checked for a second time Kenney led out for 3,500. Greenwood thought it over and made the call to bring action to the {4-Diamonds} river.

Greenwood checked it over to Kenney who rolled over {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, which was enough to take down the hand after Greenwood mucked.
