Aussie Million $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha
With a 15,000 starting stack, 40-minute levels and a 20-second shot clock, we expect the action to be fast and furious for the penultimate event of the 2017 Aussie Millions, with this tournament concluding our coverage.
The tournament begins at 12:15 pm local time with late registration available until the end of level six. Players are allowed a second bite of the cherry with a single re-entry, should they so desire.
Poland’s Daniel Demicki defeated the 78-strong field this time last year for an AUD$98,980 ($70,082 USD) payday. If the numbers are anything to go by, this years’ event should attract a healthy field.

Karmazinas Gets Ball Rolling

Dominykas Karmazinas opened to 300 from the cutoff with both the button and Sam Higgs (big blind) making the call.
Following a check from Higgs, Karmazinas led out on the 
flop, the button folded and Higgs made the call.
The 
turn paired the board and Higgs quickly checked and then folded after Karmazinas double barrelled for 600.

Laak Rejects His Own Terms

Phil Laak threw the idea out there for everyone to show one card after taking down a pot with no showdown. He got the table to agree, but then didn't follow up.
"I came up with the terms, but then I rejected them!" Laak said with a big smile.
"I'm one of the voting members" Laak continued on the subject.
Yevgeniy Timoshenko and the two other players at the table wanted to, but Laak didn't seem interested anymore. Right now, they're still discussing things - but Laak really doesn't seem up to the plan he proposed himself.
Laidlaw Gets on the Board

Poker players are notoriously late risers and with only 16 players registered so far play is shorthanded at present.
That seemed to suit Daniel Laidlaw just fine however, and he has just taken a decent sized pot down off a tablemate.
Preflop Laidlaw opened to 350 from the button and his opponent, seated in the small blind, pumped it up to 1,150 to go with Laidlaw making the call to take play heads-up to a flop of [c6ctd].
The small blind checked and Laidlaw decided to take a stab for 1,600, which his opponent called.
The 
turn brought another check from the small blind and a slightly larger bet of 5,600 from Laidlaw. The small blind made the call before checking for a third time when the 
hit the river.
Laidlaw moved all in and his opponent folded.

Small Pots Grow Big Fast in PLO

The player under the gun limped in for 100 and small blind Sam Greenwood raised to 400. Big blind Sam Higgs called, and so did the limper.
Greenwood and Higgs checked on 
and the player that had limped now bet 800. Greenwood folded, Higgs called.

Laak Sells 'Believable' Story

A player sitting under the gun opened to 300 with Yevgeniy Timoshenko (button) and Phil Laak (small blind) making the call to take play three-way to a 
flop.
All three players check, and do so again on the turn with Laak leading out for 750 on the 
river.
The original raiser folds and after a big sigh so does Timoshenko.
"You know what, I believe you Phil," said Timoshenko.
"I believable, I'll show you." Quipped Laak, showing two of his four cards, rolling over 
while raking in the small pot.
