Ivan Banic raised the cutoff to 120,000 and Nicolae Paunescu shoved the button for 925,000. Metodi Peychev then reshoved from the big blind, which got a quick fold out of Banic.
Nicolae Paunescu: A♣J♥
Metodi Peychev: A♠Q♠
Paunescu never managed to improve as the K♦2♠5♥10♥6♠ runout left him on the sidelines in fiftieth place.
Julian Bartholmes raised to 125,000 in the cutoff before Florian Duta three-bet to 390,000 in the big blind. Bartholmes moved all in and Duta snap-called.
Julian Bartholmes: A♦5♦
Florian Duta: J♦J♥
Bartholmes pleaded for an ace heading to the flop, but none came as Duta hit a set on K♣J♠10♦. The 10♣ turn improved Duta to a full house, while the 10♥ completed the board on the river. The stacks were counted down and Duta had 1,700,000 to Bartholmes' 1,500,000, sending Bartholmes to the rail.
At another table, Bjoern Zrenner raised to 150,000 in the cutoff and Rachid El Yaacoubi moved all in for 1,100,000 on the button. Frederic Marechal reshoved in the big blind and Zrenner folded.
Rachid El Yaacoubi: A♥A♠
Frederic Marechal: 10♦10♥
"I folded tens," Zrenner said, revealing that Marechal had no more in the deck in order to overcome El Yaacoubi's aces. The K♣J♥7♦9♥ board did give him a straight draw heading to the river, but he missed the 9♠ and El Yaacoubi doubled up.
Zoltan Vrancsik shoved for 370,000 on the button and Giridhar Tatavarti looked to thin down the field after he called from the big blind.
Zoltan Vrancsik: K♦8♣
Giridhar Tatavarti: K♥10♣
It was a bad situation for Vrancsik, who did pick up an open-ended straight draw on the J♦10♦9♠ flop, which also saw Tatavarti pair his ten. However, the flop was as good as it go for Vrancsik as neither the 2♠ turn nor 5♦ runout could save him from elimination.
Rachid El Yaacoubi raised to 120,000 in middle position and picked up calls from Nourri Oliver Sebaa in the hijack and big blind Alen Sabic.
All three players checked the 10♣K♠9♦ flop. Action then checked to Sebaa on the A♠ turn and he bet 200,000. Sabic called, while El Yaacoubi put in a raise to 1,000,000.
Sebaa folded, but Sabic responded by moving all in for 1,900,000. El Yaacoubi quickly folded.
Adrian Cazacu raised from middle position to 120,000 and Harel Azulay three-bet from the hijack to 270,000. Once it folded back around to Cazacu, he made the call.
They would be the last chips to Cazacu committed to the pot as after the 9♠3♥Q♦ flop, he check-folded to Azulay's 175,000-chip continuation-bet.
Cazacu is no stranger to King's Resort in Rozvadov, and has three final tables here in the last few months, with two runner-up finishes, plus a fifth in a field with almost 5,000 runners. The Romanian player has a healthy stack as of now and will be looking to convert it into another final table over the next few days.
Thomas Eychenne raised to 100,000 in early position before Mels Hovhannisyan moved all in for 960,000 in the cutoff. Arturo Paduano gave it some thought on the button but eventually folded, while small blind Christopher Campisano reshoved. Eychenne folded two sixes.
Mels Hovhannisyan: A♥Q♠
Christopher Campisano: K♠K♣
Campisano had woken up with kings, but the flop came A♠7♦7♣ to give Hovhannisyan the lead with two pair. The rest of the board ran out 5♠J♥ and Hovhannisyan doubled up.
"I win. I folded ace-jack," Paduano said after the hand.
Frederik Thiemer initiated the action with an under-the-gun raise to 105,000, but Catalin Diac in the big blind responded with a hefty three-bet to 400,000. Rather than simply calling, Thiemer pushed back with a four-bet to 1,150,000. Diac found himself deep in thought, contemplating his next move for over three minutes, prompting another player to call the clock on him. With the countdown on, Diac ultimately decided to fold.
As the tension eased, Diac turned to Thiemer and asked, "If I show you my cards, will you show yours?"
Thiemer replied, "Sure, show it."
Diac revealed A♦K♥, and Thiemer flipped over K♠10♣, sparking a wave of laughter around the table. With a grin, Diac remarked, "That was well played."
In a blind-versus-blind battle, Luigi Pignataro bet 50,000 on a flop of 10♠K♣10♣ and Besmir Dini raised to 105,000 in the big blind. Pignataro called and the 7♣ fell on the turn.
Dini then bet another 105,000, Pignataro raised to 555,000, and Dini called. The river was the Q♥ and Pignataro bet 1,000,000, enough to put Dini all in.
Dini had around 400,000 remaining and tanked for several minutes before calling. Pignataro turned over 10♦2♦ for trips and Dini mucked as he headed for the exit. The dealer retrieved 7♥6♣ before pushing the pot to Pignataro.
At another table, Francesco Delfoco was all in for 750,000 from the small blind and up against Metodi Peychev in the big blind.
Francesco Delfoco: A♣10♣
Metodi Peychev: A♠Q♦
Delfoco found himself dominated as both players ended up hitting their ace on the 4♠J♦6♥9♠A♦ board, but Peychev's queen-kicker continued to play to send Delfoco to the rail.
Nazar Diachok raised from under the gun to 100,000 and Catalin Diac called from the next seat. Bernd Reich also called from the cutoff.
The three players went to a flop of 9♥4♣9♠ when Diachok checked, and Diac fired 125,000. Reich called, and Diachok folded.
Both players checked the J♣ turn to see the A♥ fall on the river. Diac grabbed five chips, worth 100,000 each, and threw them across the line. Reich thought for some time but eventually slid his cards into the muck.
