Dia 1b Começado
The second of two starting flights for Event #13: €10,350 Main Event NLH European Championship gets underway at 12 p.m. today as the 2023 World Series of Poker Europe heads into its final stretch here at King's Casino in Rozvadov.
Day 1a saw 557 entrants take their seats, the most ever for a Day 1 of the WSOPE Main Event. Of those, only 360 made it through to Day 2, with Dumitru Pora bagging a solid lead after amassing 729,700 in chips. His next closest opposition is Axel Hallay, who finished the day with 577,000. Other notables who bagged big include Stephen Chidwick (378,900), Daniel Rezaei (303,800), Jessica Teusl (255,900) and Viktor Blom (228,200).
Although fewer players are expected to participate in Day 1b, the previous record of 763 players (set last year) is within reach. The guaranteed prize pool of €5,000,000 has already been surpassed based on Day 1a entries alone and currently sits at €5,291,500.
Defending champion Omar Eljach fired one bullet yesterday and, despite running up a stack early, busted out late in Day 1a. Eljach, along with all other players, are allowed one reentry should they choose.

Yuhang Chen raised to 700 from under the gun and a call followed from David Miscikowski in the big blind. Both players then checked the 7♣3♠4♥ flop before Miscikowski bet out 700 chips on the 5♠ turn.
Chen made the call and the subsequent 2♥ turn was checked by both players again. Miscikowski tabled 10♥7♥ and it was the winner as Chen added his cards to the muck.

Players on Day 1 of the Main Event begin with more than 300 big blinds, but that didn't stop Yuhang Chen from getting all his chips in the middle within the first 15 minutes of the day.
Duc Tuan Tran bet 6,200 from the small blind on a board of 4♠3♠6♦7♥ before Chen raised to 20,000 on the button. Tran then reraised to 40,000.
"Really," Chen asked. He then moved all in for around 80,000 more. "Got a five or playing a flush draw," Tran asked him, but Chen remained silent staring straight ahead.
Tran eventually folded and Chen took the early big pot. "I see how you lost your first bullet yesterday. It's okay, it's only one hand," Tran added.

Action folded around to the blinds, where Erik Borkvik called from the small blind and Motokatsu Uhara raised to 900 from the big blind. Borkvik called.
Both players checked on the 8♥6♣3♠ flop and then Borkvik led out for 1,200 on the 2♠ turn. Uhara called.
The 4♣ completed the board and Borkvik fired 3,700 into the middle. Uhara thought a bit and stuck in a call.
Borkvik showed K♦9♠, which was second-best against the K♥Q♦ of Uhara for a superior king-high.

The pot had grown to a size of 5,000 chips when the action was caught on the completed board of 3♥3♦7♣Q♥9♦. Levan Rcheulishvili bet out 1,600 more from the big blind and received a call from Ilija Savevski in the cutoff.
Rcheulishvili tabled 7♠3♠ for two pair and raked in the pot when Savevski mucked his cards.
