Riess Takes Out Becker

Nível 12 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

The action folded to Johannes Becker on the button who shoved all in for 1,100,000. Ryan Riess looked down at his cards in the big blind and made the call to put Becker at risk.

Ryan Riess: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Johannes Becker: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Becker was in a dominating position and the flop of {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} left things that way. The {6-Diamonds} on the turn provided some chop outs but it was the {10-Clubs} on the river that gave Riess the outright win.

Monster Pot for Filatov to Bust Negreanu and Almost Triple Up

Nível 12 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Anatoly Filatov
Anatoly Filatov

Daniel Negreanu had raised from under the gun and was called by Anatoly Filatov in the hijack and Manig Loeser in the big blind to create a pot of 900,000 in the middle.

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, Loeser checked, Negreanu continued with a bet of 300,000. Filatov raised to 700,000, Loeser responded with a three-bet-shove by putting 4 pink 500,000-value chips in.

Negreanu looked at Loeser's stack and confirmed he had less. Negreanu then called. Filatov asked for a count. The dealer and the floor confirmed Negreanu had 6,235,000 behind. Filatov took some time and then decided to call too with a bigger stack than Negreanu but shorter than Loeser.

Daniel Negreanu: {k-Spades}{9-Spades}
Anatoly Filatov: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Manig Loeser: {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Loeser and Negreanu had both flopped two pair while Filatov had a set of sevens.

The turn was the {2-Hearts} which didn't change things and neither did the {6-Clubs} on the river.

Negreanu was eliminated to be sent to the cashier to reenter. Filatov's stack was counted and the dealer determined Filatov had 7,275,000 behind. After paying Filatov, Loeser had just over 800,000 left.

Dominik Nitsche

Dominik Nitsche and Johannes Becker were heads-up with Becker at risk from the small blind for 1,225,000 and Nitsche with the bigger stack in the cutoff.

Johannes Becker: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Dominik Nitsche: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for Becker to turn a set to double up.

Shortly after, Nitsche lost the rest of his stack to Jean-Noel Thorel.

Pidun Picks Up More Chips

Nível 12 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Daniel Pidun raised it up from under the gun and Kahle Burns called from the big blind. The flop fell {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Burns checked to Pidun who tossed in a bet. Burns check-raised to 525,000 and Pidun called.

The turn brought the {9-Diamonds} and Burns led out for another 540,000. Pidun still called and the {9-Hearts} paired the board on the river. Burns checked this time and Pidun checked it back. Pidun showed {a-}{a-} and Burns was unable to beat it.

Nível 12 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Katz Gets Four-Flushed Again

Nível 11 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

The action folded to Paul Phua in the cutoff who jammed all in for around 1,400,000. Cary Katz was on the button with a slightly smaller stack and announced all in as well. The blinds folded and the two hands were tabled.

Paul Phua: {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Cary Katz: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The flop of {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs} left Katz in the lead but Phua picked up a flush draw. The {5-Clubs} on the turn gave Phua a flush and Katz was left drawing dead to the {9-Spades} on the river.

All-In and Call

Nível 11 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

With each re-entry into the tournament, a starting stack is only worth 25 big blinds and that will soon become 20 big blinds when the level goes up in about 15 minutes. That is creating a lot of short-stacked poker for certain players and there seems to be an all in and call every other hand.

Rainer Kempe pushed all-in for 750,000 in the cutoff and Adrian Mateos called from the big blind. Kempe held {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and was likely going to chop with Mateos who had {a-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. However, the runout of {q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades} gave Mateos a pair of fives and Kempe was eliminated.

In the next hand, the action folded to Mateos in the small blind who shoved all in. James Chen was in the big blind with a stack of 1,540,000 and he thought for a moment before looking at his watch and making the decision to call.

Mateos turned over {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Chen was currently in the lead with {k-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. The board ran out {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds} which missed both players and Chen scored a double up.
