Day 1C of Event #5: €1,100 MONSTER STACK No-Limit Hold’em is in the books here at the King’s Resort in Rozvadov. The last of three starting flights was the busiest one as is the tradition in the biggest poker arena of Europe. Day 1C attracted 314 hopefuls to the tables with 80 of them making it through to Day 2. Taking the chip lead is Oleg Netaliev with 472,000 in chips.

The young Russian player seems to have come onto the scene only recently with three live cashes this year which includes two wins, one of them was the partypoker Russian Poker Championship just over two months ago. Trailing him in the chip counts is Frank Rohrmueller from Germany with 399,500. Closing the podium for today is Yoan Argence, the Belgian player bagged 386,500 in chips and will be looking forward to running that up to even more on Day 2.

Other notable players returning to the felt on Day 2 include fresh WSOP bracelet winner Mykhailo Gutyi (300,000), WSOP Circuit Rozvadov Champion Amar Begovic (269,500), Rex Clinkscales (241,000), well-known local player Yehuda Cohen (239,000), Anatolii Zyrin (213,000), Tobias Peters (202,500), Romain Lewis (148,500), four-time WSOP bracelet winner Jeff Madsen (133,000), and Vojtech Ruzicka with 113,500 in chips.

At 3 PM the tournament kicked off with over 100 players in their seats already, contrary to the action over the first two starting days, today it took more than an hour for the first player to be eliminated from the Monster Stack without having another shot. Rakesh Lalwani has the dubious honor of being the first to hit the rail because Maksym Lavrov hit a set on the flop. Ryan Riess, the 2013 WSOP Main Event Champion took his seat as he arrived today but was sent to the rail quite early by Khabat Jahany so he could enjoy the Michigan football game.

He wasn’t the only one to be eliminated during the fourteen levels of play today, players like Jose Obadia, Jerome Sgorrano, Winfred Yu, Milad Oghabian, Daniel Rezaei, Martin Kabrhel, Renato Kaneoya, Roland Israelashvili, Krasimir Yankov, Guiliano Bendinelli, Philipp Zukernik, Ognjen Sekularac, Matthew Wantman, Aylar Lie, Cord Garcia, David Boyaciyan, Boon Seng Ang, Artur Rudziankov, Shaun Deeb, Michael Soyza, Asi Moshe, Jan Mach, and Gianluca Speranza all fell at one of the many hurdles today.

Day 2 will commence on Sunday, October 21, at 2 PM local time with 100 players sharing the total prize pool of €639,027. In total, 165 players will return to fight it out to see who will reach the final table. The level duration will increase to 60 minutes with a 15-minute break after every two levels and a dinner break after the 6th level of play.

Bickering Boys Won't Stop

Nível 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Frank Rohrmueller
Frank Rohrmueller

Andres Zepeda raised to 4,000 from under the gun and action folded to Frank Rohmueller in the hijack. After considering his options for twenty seconds, Alexander Dovzhenko called the clock on him. The floor was called over and the dealer explained the situation to her. She ruled that Rohrmueller did not have enough time to take a decision and could take more time.

Dovzhenko did not agree and kept arguing: "You're the short-stack, why are you thinking?"

Rohrmueller took his time and contemplated his options, maybe just to spite Dovzhenko, he took the maximum amount of time possible. After a minute, the floor gave Rohrmueller 30 seconds to take a decision. While she counted down from five, Rohrmueller folded.

Dovzhenko also folded in the cutoff and kept arguing with Rohrmueller. Rohrmueller replied that he had almost 40 big blinds and wasn't short at all. In fact, it was Dovzhenko himself who was short.

Dovzhenko kept having a go at Rohrmueller and Rohrmueller indicated to the floor that it was getting annoying.

In the meanwhile, Amar Begovic three-bet to 16,100 from the button and Victor Paraschiv shoved in the small blind. Zepeda folded and Begovic was sitting in the tank while the two grown-up men next to him were quarreling like little children.

The floor stepped in and asked them to stop but Dovzhenko told her he didn't want to listen to her. He even went that far to cover his ears up while pretending to ignore her and carrying an annoyed look on his face. Rohrmueller indicated that Dovzhenko kept bothering him while the issue was done. Dovzhenko wouldn't stop but Rorhmueller finally started ignoring him.

Begovic was still in the tank and asked for a count, the dealer confirmed Paraschiv had gone all-in for 62,600 in total. In the end, Begovic folded and make a remark to Paraschiv who just smiled.

David Boyaciyan opened to 2,200 from under the gun and Sinisa Bodrozic called on the button. The small blind shipped all in for 14,500 and Boyaciyan also pushed all in for around 25,000. Bodrozic quickly folded and the cards were on their backs.

The flop came {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Boyaciyan took the lead with a pair of aces. The {a-Diamonds} landed on the turn and the {2-Hearts} hit the river as Boyaciyan eliminated his opponent to return to a starting stack.

Ruzicka Doubles Again

Vojtech Ruzicka

The board read {8-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{2-Spades}{q-Hearts} with around 20,000 in the middle, Vojtech Ruzicka had checked in the small blind and Daniel Rezaei bet 8,500 from the cutoff which Ruzicka called.

The river completed the board with the {j-Diamonds} on which Ruzicka checked again. Rezaei announced all-in, having Ruzicka slightly covered. Ruzicka shook his hand, smiled, looked at his cards again, and tanked a bit longer. After a while, Ruzicka reluctantly made the call.

"Good call." Rezaei said while turning around {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for the bluff and Ruzicka doubled up for around 20.000 with {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for the turned pair of queens leaving Rezaei behind with around 4,000 which he lost shortly after.

Peters Favors the River

Nível 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Tobias Peters
Tobias Peters

Tobias Peters raised it up from early position and Luca Marchetti defended from the big blind. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {9-Clubs} on the turn.

Marchetti led out for 1,300 and Peters raised to 4,500. Marchetti re-raised to 9,200 and Peters just called. The river was the {6-Diamonds} and Marchetti checked this time with three diamonds on the board. Peters put together a bet of 23,000 and Marchetti was left with a decision for the majority of his stack

He thought for over a minute before sliding his cards to the muck and allowing Peters to win the pot. Just a couple of moments later, Marchetti was seen leaving the tournament area after being eliminated.

Lalwani is the First to Hit the Rail

Nível 2 : 100/200, 0 ante
Rakesh Lalwani
Rakesh Lalwani

Rakesh Lalwani opened to 500 from under the gun and was called by Maksym Lavrov on the button. Sebastian Kos re-raised to 3,600 in the small blind and both Lalwani and Lavrov called.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and the action checked to Lavrov who bet 5,000. Kos folded but Lalwani called to see the {q-Spades} on the turn. Lalwani checked again and Lavrov asked how much Lalwani had behind before betting enough to put him at risk for his last 11,500 chips. Lalwani called and the cards were tabled.

Lavrov turned over {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} for a set of eights and Lalwani was drawing dead with the {9-Spades}{7-Spades}. The insignificant {4-Spades} landed on the river and Lalwani packed up his things before heading to the rail.
