His opponent thought it over for about a minute, rechecked his hole cards, then sent them in to give Katz the pot.
A player raised from under the gun, making it 600 to go. Action folded around to Maria Konnikova, who three-bet to 1,500 from the cutoff. The original raiser called, and the two took to a flop.
On the flop, Konnikova's opponent checked to her. She put out a bet of 1,400, and the player quickly folded, allowing Konnikova to scoop the pot and boost her chip stack.
Cory Waaland opened with a raise to 500 from the cutoff and was called by the button and the small blind before the big blind reraised, making it 2,700. Action was back to Waaland, who shoved all in for right around 12,000. The button and small blind folded, then the big blind followed suit, as well, passing his 2,700-chip re-raise over to Waaland.
Waaland smirked, then turned over his and took in the rest of the pot.
Allyn Shulman checked to her lone opponent in this hand after a flop of , and her opponent bet 1,700. Shulman check-raised to 5,500, and her opponent called to see the hit the turn. Shulman took hardly any time to move all in, and her opponent didn't take long to release his cards, either.
Daniel Negreanu just took his seat in the Miranda Room, announced, "Let's gamble," and got it in blind on the first hand.

Now the straight draw was open-ended, and Negreanu kept on calling out his cards while people were looking onward, recording and taping this fun moment. The dealer burned a card and flipped over the on the river, completing Negreanu's straight. He leapt into the air in excitement.
Several high-fives went around, and Negreanu was sure to capture some of the moment for his vlog. He stated, "How fun was that?! All for a good cause and charity."
He certainly is right. The charismatic Canadian and face of the poker world makes this game we love that much more enjoyable.
