Welcome to Day 2 of Event #64: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed Mix

There's no question that no-limit hold'em and pot-limit Omaha are the two most popular games in poker today, and the World Series of Poker has combined the two in a great event for players and fans alike, Event #64: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed Mix.

Fans of big-bet poker get their fill with this one, and the players liked it enough for 1,056 to turn out yesterday. A fast-paced Day 1 saw the money bubble burst, so only 158 runners remain in the event for Day 2.

Plenty of notable names filled out the top of the chip counts and loom as players to watch for Day 2. They include chip leader and 2016 bracelet winner Ryan LaPlante, 2017 bracelet winners Bryce Yockey and Chris Moorman, and recognizable pros like Steve Gross, Jared Jaffee and Juha Helppi.

The plan for today is to play 10 more one-hour levels, which will see the blinds increase from 600/1,200 to 5,000/10,000 by the time players wrap things up for the night. Unlike Day 1, there will be a one-hour dinner break as well. Cards are scheduled to start flying at 2 p.m. local time, so stay tuned to PokerNews for all of the important developments.
