Day 2 of Event #55: $1,500 Seven Card Stud began with 68 players remaining from the starting field of 298 players. After 10 levels on Thursday, only seven players remain in the hunt to capture a World Series of Poker bracelet and the first-place prize of $96,907.
On top of the chip counts is Tsong Lin with 791,000. In the middle of the pack when the field was down to three tables, Lin quietly ascended the counts. By the time the unofficial final table was reached, Lin was second in leaderboard. From there he went on an absolute tear, more than doubling his stack in the last level and a half of play to bag a sizable lead of 11 big bets. Yueqi Zhu is second in chips with 512,000, while Cheryl Denzik is third with 304,000. When the players redrew for seats at the final three tables, Denzik had only a half of a big bet. She ran that up into the chip lead within two levels before settling back into the pack a bit.

Tryba bet with the best board on fourth street, Zhu raised, Bui called, and Tryba called all in.
Zhu bet his open pair of queens on fifth street, Bui raised with his open pair of deuces, and Zhu called. Zhu check-called a bet from Bui on sixth street before both players checked on seventh street.
Zhu showed for trip queens, Bui mucked, and Tryba showed for a defeated trip eights to bust in eighth place.
Joseph Cappello completed, Daniel Mogavero raised, Tom Koral made it three bets, Cappello called, and Mogavero called.
On fourth street, Mogavero checked, Koral bet, Cappello raised with 1,000 behind, Mogavero made it three bets, and Koral folded. Cappello put in his last chip and Mogavero wished him luck.

Mogavero was ahead with a pair of nines and Cappello had a pair of sixes in the hole. Mogavero made nines and fives on seventh street, and Cappello's two pair, sixes and twos, was no good.
Cappello was eliminated in ninth place, taking home $6,803.
On fourth street, Bui bet, Chris Tryba called, and Yosuke Sekiya raised. Bui made it three bets, Tryba folded, and Sekiya called.
On fifth street, Sekiya bet and Bui called. On sixth street, Sekiya went all in for 7,000 and Bui called.
