Mark Babekov raised to 1,000,000 from early position, Kent Coppock three-bet shoved from the button for 5,450,000, and Matt Affleck re-shoved from the small blind. Babekov folded, and Coppock and Affleck tabled their hands.
Coppock:
Affleck:
Coppock was racing for his tournament life and needed help from the board in order to double up. The flop kept Affleck in the lead, as did the turn, but the on the river paired Coppock's queen, and he scooped the pot.
Erkut Yilmaz opened the action and then had pause for thought as Taylor Black moved all in for 7,100,000.
A hush fell as Yilmaz mulled it over and when he called the noise level shot up again as the rail strained against the ropes to see the hands with Black at risk of elimination.
John Hanna went all-in from middle position for 3,800,000. Everyone folded to Erkut Yilmaz in the big blind. After taking some time to consider what to do, he decided to call.
Erkut Yilmaz raised to 1,050,000 from middle position and Jason Orrell moved all in from the small blind. Yilmaz called to put Orrell at risk and the two players tabled their hands.
Orrell:
Yilmaz:
Orrell was the preflop underdog and needed help from the board in order to double up and preserve his tournament life. The board ran out , giving Yilmaz Broadway and ending Orrell's run in this year's Colossus.
With Orrell's elimination, the official final table has been reached and play has concluded for the day.
Forty-one players took their seats this afternoon at the start of Day 3 in the World Series of Poker Event #5: $565 Colossus No Limit Hold'em, but only nine advanced to Wednesday's final table. The winner will take home the top prize of $1,000,000.
The chip lead is held by Mark Babekov, who ended the day with 19,025,000 in chips. Second in chips is Erkut Yilmaz with 16,000,00, followed by Taylor Black with 13,300,000 chips.
Among the notables at the final table are Matt Affleck and Luke Vrabel. The chip leader at the start of the day, Raul Martinez Requena, busted in a hand against Yilmaz in 11th place. After his bust-out the players merged onto the unofficial final table, where the bubble lasted a bit more than three hours until Jason Orrell was eliminated in 10th place.
