Thomas Boivin Scores a Double KO

Nível 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Thomas Boivin just eliminated two players when the flop came {K-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Spades}. Boivin held {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} while one opponent had {K-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and the other short-stacked opponent had {A-Spades}{5-Hearts}. The turn was the {Q-Spades} and the river {9-Diamonds} ensured Boivin's set held up to win the pot.

Boivin is fairly new to the poker scene in North America as most of his play has been throughout Europe, hailing from Charleroi, Belgium. However, he has racked up over $658,000 in live tournament earnings in the past couple years.

Lopez Makes Quad Kings!

Nível 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

There was 35,000 in the pot and the board read {K-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs} with three players in the hand. The action was checked around and the {K-Diamonds} turn was dealt. The big blind checked and so did Lucianos Andres Lopez. The last player to act bet 13,000. The big blind raised to 28,000 and Lopez just smooth-called. The initial better folded and they were heads up to the river.

The river was the {6-Hearts} and the big blind moved all in for his remaining 43,000. Lopez snap-called and rolled over {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} for quads and scooped a nice-sized pot.

Sparsdale Coolers Two Opponents

Nível 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Mike Sparsdale raised from early position and an opponent shipped all in from middle position. Another opponent re-jammed all in for around 100,000 in late position. When the action was back on Sparsdale, he was undoubtedly calling as he was holding the best hand in poker: pocket aces. One opponent had pocket queens and the other opponent held ace-king. The board ran out clean for Sparsdale and he now sits at the top of the leaderboard nearing the end of Day 1a.

Nível 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Newton Deleon had just doubled up an opponent who held {8-}{3-} and, in the very next hand, the same opponent pushed all in preflop. Deleon instantly called with {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and was in a race situation against {7-}{7-}.

The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Deleon made quad tens to eliminate his opponent.

Nível 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
