Carrel Has Read Spot On

Nível 3 : 75/150, 25 ante
Charlie Carrel in the $111,000 One Drop
Charlie Carrel in the $111,000 One Drop

With the board showing {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs}, Thomas Franklin bet 1,600 and Charlie Carrel called before the {8-Hearts} river completed the board. Franklin bet 1,500 and Carrel started some table talk.

"I guess you have jack-ten, or king-jack," Carrel said, trying to get any information from his opponent.

"You will tell me," Carrel added and Franklin replied, "Do I have to tell now or later?"

Carrel added some more and Franklin joked back "I want $10 in cash," which Carrel indeed paid before mucking his cards.

Franklin flashed exactly that latter guess — {K-Spades}{J-Spades} — and raked in the pot, leaving Carrel short.

Trudeau Loses Flip to Bust

Nível 3 : 75/150, 25 ante

On the table of Alex Rocha and Molly Anne Mossey, Patrick Noll raised to 325 and called the shove of Jeffrey Trudeau Jr. for 1,600 in the cutoff. Noll flashed {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} and Trudeau had a flip with {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. The board came {K-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and the jacks failed to hold up to eliminate Trudeau.

Adam Owen In the House

Nível 3 : 75/150, 25 ante

Adam Owen, a renowned wizard of the mixed games, just took his seat, showing the receipt to the dealer in order to receive the 5,000 starting stack. Owen was an asset of the sixth-best team in the last year's $1,000 Tag Team Tournament here at the World Series, a line-up that also boasted Owais Ahmed, Benny Glaser and Bart Lybaert.

But that team split and the 24-year-old from England has other buddies for this year's edition. Owen is in together with his fellow countrymen Joe Brindle and Colin Lovelock.

Brown No More

Nível 3 : 75/150, 25 ante

The action folded to Andrew Camou in the small blind and he raised to 1,600. Barry Brown shoved for a little more and Camou called it off with {Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. Brown had a flip with {6-Hearts}{6-Spades} and saw the board run out {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Brown's teammate arrived half a minute later to take over only to be given the bad news that this wasn't needed anymore.

Camou's stack has more than doubled since the start and the same also applies for Charles Welch on the same table, while Andreas Klatt remains below average.

Bolte Three-Bet Shoves Turn

Nível 3 : 75/150, 25 ante

It's still an early stage of the tournament, so it's a red flag when the yellow 1,000 chips lie in the middle of the table. There was already a bunch of them when we caught the action on a turn reading {Q-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}.

Under the gun, Jason Bolte led for 3,000 and when his opponent in the cutoff opted for a raise to 6,500, Bolte answered clearly and decisively, announcing he was all in. A fold followed about 30 seconds later, and Bolte could start stacking chips from the hefty pot.

He'd already had piles in front of him before the aforementioned hand, and now has approximately 40,000.

A Glance at Team Glantz

Nível 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

It is quite a team that Matt Glantz has recruited for this event, as Michael Mizrachi, Robert Mizrachi and Todd Brunson are also on it. Right now it is Michael Mizrachi on the table and he has been able to run up a stack.

On a three-way turn showing {7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Spades}, the big blind bet 1,100 and Barny Boatman folded, while Mizrachi in the cutoff called. The {4-Clubs} river was checked and the big blind mucked to award the pot to Mizrachi.

Team Schwartz Among the Big Stacks

Nível 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Team Schwartz has started well, as Ylon Schwartz doubled the stack early on and his teammates continued right where he left. Next to him is Team Wilson and they are also doing well thus far.

Catching up the action on the {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} turn, a short stack got his last 2,175 in and Brian Wilson called with the {Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. The opponent had {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a gutshot and the {3-Hearts} river was a blank.

Barbero Shows a Three

Nível 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Nacho Barbero seems to enjoy his time in the Tag Team event, with a smile on his face. Barbero plays at Table 158 along with Kitty Kuo and Brian Altman. But it's the Argentinian who's at the helm at the table. He just added another chunk to his stack. He opened to 500 from an early position. Altman, directly to Barbero's left, flatted and so did his left-hand opponent.

The three players saw a flop {2-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} and Barbero continued for 400. Altman wasted no time and folded, but a raise to 1,500 followed by the third player. Barbero quickly called, and then the {Q-Spades} appeared on the turn. Both players slowed down to let the dealer turn over the {6-Spades} river for free.

Barbero asked his opponent to move his hand so that he could see how much he had left. It was 2,600 and Barbero slid forward way more than that to put his opponent to the test, but it resulted in a fold. Barbero, in return, flashed {3-Spades} while releasing his other hole card face down.

Barbero is now up to 29,000 and admitted that his wingman Nick Yunis might take over soon.
