Jeremy Ausmus Eyeing First Bracelet of Summer in $10K No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw While Hunting Player of the Year

Today, at 1 p.m. local time, the third and final day of the 67th Event of the 2024 World Series of Poker will take place inside the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, Nine players will return in the $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship to decide who will get the title, bracelet and $411,041 first-place prize.

Among the contenders is Jeremy Ausmus. Ausmus will bring an above-average stack of 1,740,000 chips to the table, good for 58 big blinds and third place on the leaderboard. The event's final table is just one elimination away, and it would be Ausmus' sixth one of the summer were he to make it.

The $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw Championship is known for having one of the toughest fields of the WSOP. Ausmus, however, is no stranger to battling the best of the best this summer, with final tables in both the $100,000 and $250,000 buy-in no-limit hold 'em high rollers, as well as the $50,000 Poker Player's Championship, the last of which often heralded as the hardest tournament of the year.

Claiming victory in the 2-7 Single Draw Championship would further solidify Ausmus' current lead in the WSOP Player of the Year standings, but he will have to maneuver through his eight opponents if he wants to capture his first bracelet of the summer.

Perhaps his biggest threat is Canadian high roller Mike Watson, who bagged 2,165,000 chips and is second on the leaderboard behind chipleader David Lin, who has 2,295,000 chips. Watson will be looking to stop Ausmus in his tracks as he will want to capture his first-ever bracelet and complete his coveted Triple Crown.

The rest of the field are no slouches either, with the likes of six-time bracelet winners Scott Seiver (1,215,000) and Jason Mercier (640,000) making it through to Day 3, with the former looking for his third bracelet of the summer. Five-time bracelet winner Robert Mizrachi (875,000) is also still in contention, as is Hall of Famer Jen Harman (610,000).
