Mark Checkwicz raised from under the gun to 250,000, holding 5♦4♥. Kevin Nathan, on the button, three-bet to 650,000 with K♦Q♦ and Checkwicz made the call.
The 9♦K♣A♣ flop checked through to the 7♥ on the turn. Checkwicz felt obliged to turn his five-high into a bluff, leading for 390,000. Nathan put in a raise to 1,000,000 and Checkwicz snap-folded.
Samuel Wagner raised 250,000 from the cutoff holding 7♥7♦. Michael Vela, in the small blind, three-bet to 700,000 holding A♥K♠.
Wagner chose to four-bet jam for his remaining 3,870,000 and Vela went deep into the tank.
Vela thought for several minutes before saying to the table "My gut says fold so I'm going to fold". He pitched his cards to the muck, avoiding the biggest flip of the tournament so far.
