Welcome to Online Event #8: $3,200 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller

While thousands of players have flocked to the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas for their shot at bracelet glory, some will be chasing their championship dreams from the virtual felt.

Today at 3:30 p.m. marks the start of Online Event #8: $3,200 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller at the 2023 World Series of Poker. Players begin with 20,000 in tournament chips and blinds go up every 20 minutes. There will be a five-minute break at 55 minutes past the hour, every hour. Every player will be allowed two rebuys that get them the same 20,000 in chips. This is a one-day event and will play down to a winner.

Last year this event was won by Christopher "Pay_Son" Staats who defeated Dan "BackDoorDan" Smith in heads-up play to win the 2022 WSOP Online Event #26: $3,200 NLH High Roller 6-Max for his first WSOP bracelet and the $111,609 top prize. The event drew 149 runners and generated a total prize pool of $452,960. Will that number be broken this year? If the turnout for the rest of this summer's series is any indication then the answer will likely be, yes.

There have already been multiple online bracelets awarded this year so far. Who can take down number three? That answer and more will be found by day's end.

"Eyelesstogaz" Gets Value on the River

Mitch "paltex" Garshofsky opened under the gun to 153. Grace "PokerNinjaX" Rowan made the call in middle position and "Eyelesstogaz" both made the call on the button.

The 4♠5♠6♣ flop landed and Garshofsky checked it over to Rowan who put out a bet of 450. "Eyelesstogaz" raised on the button to 1,150. Garhofsky got out of the way and Rowan made the call. The A♣ turned checked through and saw a 7♦ on the river. Rowan led for 1,450 and "Eyelesstogaz" raised to 4,200. Rowan snap called and the cards were shown.

"Eyelesstogaz" tabled 8♣8♠ for a rivered straight and Rowan mucked.

Action folded to "deviousmindz" on the button who opened to 255. The small blind folded and Michael "Otto.Rocket" Lavin defended his big blind. The 7♥2♠6♦ flop landed and action checked through. The 5♦ turn was put out and "deviousmindz" checked it over to Lavin who made a bet of 310. "deviousmindz" called.

The 2♠ river was a relative blank and Lavin checked again. "deviousmindz" now made it 826 and Lavin called again. "deviousmindz" tabled J♣10♥ and Lavin tabled 9♣7♦ for top pair to scoop.

Mugar Overbets River

Current chip leader Allen "Nucman" Pock limped under the gun and action folded back to Peter "Peter_1223" Mugar in the small blind who flatted and Brian "omahabrian" Battistone checked his option in the big blind.

The 6♠J♠9♣ flop hit and Mugar checked it over to Battistone who bet 262. Pock folded and Mugar made the call. The turn brought an 8♠ and action checked through. The 8♦ river landed and now Mugar opted to overbet the pot to 1,500. Battistone made the call but mucked when Mugar tabled A♠2♠.
