After the dust settled from the two starting flights, just 1,980 hopefuls will be returning for Day 2 of Event #70: $400 The Colossus at the 2023 World Series of Poker at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. In total 15,893 entrants took their shot at one of the most popular events of the year which was almost 2,000 more entrants than 2022. Official numbers, including payouts, are expected to be released early on Day 2.

Your current chip leader going into Day 2 will be Scott Keaton who bagged the big stack on Day 1b and will come into battle with a stack of 1,358,000 . Others at the top of the leaderboard include, Darrick Arreola (1,313,000), Neng Lee (1,290,000), Chengtzu Lai (1,456,000), and Alessandro Minasi (1,415,000).

Among the field is still plenty of notable names. Erik Cajelais made a deep run in the Event #64: $600 Deepstack Championship No-Limit Hold'em finishing 19th and followed it right up with a bag in the Colossus. Two-time WSOP bracelet winner Dan Heimiller bagged a healthy stack of 979,000. Heimiller has had an impressive summer thus far, cashing in six events for a total of $375,108. Lara Eisenberg, who took down the 2021 Ladies event, will be in the mix and battling for her potential second bracelet.
