David Prociak Leads the Final Five in Event #62: $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha

Twenty-eight players started Day 3 of the 2023 World Series of Poker Event #62: $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha in the event center at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas looking to take home the top prize of $410,659 and the coveted WSOP gold bracelet, and that dream is still alive for five players, which will conclude on PokerGO tomorrow, June 30th, at 5 p.m.

Leading the final five is bracelet winner David Prociak, who bagged 21,450,000. This will be Prociak's 59th WSOP cash, and even with an unlikely fifth-place finish, he's guaranteed to approach the million-dollar mark in career WSOP earnings. Prociak spent a good part of the day as a middling stack and was short toward the end of the day, but rocketed into the lead after a come-from-behind win in Pot-Limit Omaha against Robert Mizrachi's aces.

Second in chips is David Simon, who bagged 11,900,000 and, with this cash, will more than double his current WSOP earnings of $90,000.

Simon had this to say to PokerNews, "As surreal as this tournament has been, it still feels natural when I'm at the table. But the second that I get up from the table, I can't keep the smile off my face. This is already six times more than I've ever cashed. It's been a dreamlike couple of days. I plan on just having a good tomorrow."

Rounding out the top three is Eric Pfenning and right on his heels is Israel's Tsuf Saltsberg, bagging 6,550,000.

Coming in as the table short stack is Day 2 chip leader Eran Carmi, finishing with 3,925,000. Carmi spent most of the day as the tournament big stack, but found himself on the wrong side of a few late-day clashes with Prociak.

Early eliminations included two-time bracelet winner Martin Kabrhel, who was left with only 10,000 in chips after his opponent flopped an ace-high flush in an all-in hand, and then was eliminated a hand later by Prociak when his ace-nine-four-three failed to improve against Prociak’s ace-queen-jack-four in Pot-Limit Omaha.

Final Table Action

First to exit the final table in ninth place was Charles Honkonen, who scored a career-high cash of $34,805 after calling his remaining chips with second pair to Carmi.

Eighth place belonged to China’s Guofeng Wang, who would score his 12th WSOP cash after his flopped two pair would fall to the turned trips of Mizrachi.

Three-time bracelet winner, Upeshka De Silva, fell right before the dinner break to Saltsberg after De Silva’s queens failed to hold against Saltsberg's ace-king, sending him to the rail in seventh place.

Robert Mizrachi would bow out in sixth. Mizrachi entered the final table as one of the big stacks but became short after a devastating clash with Prociak in Pot-Limit Omaha. Mizrachi busted a few hands later when his ace-ten would fail to improve against Prociak's ace-queen.

Robert Mizrachi raised to 750,000 from the small blind and David Prociak three-bet to 2,225,000 in the big blind. Mizrachi moved all-in and Prociak called.

David Prociak: KK66
Robert Mizrachi: AA76

Mizrachi was in a dominant position to end the day for Prociak, but the 98A flop propelled Prociak into the lead with a flush. Mizrachi needed the board to pair to clock the elimination.

However, it would fail to do so on the 4 turn and the 3 river, giving Prociak the full double.

David Prociak raised to 550,000 from the cutoff preflop, with Eran Carmi calling from the button. David Simon, the small blind, reraised to 2.45 million. Prociak then bet the pot, with Carmi folding and Simon calling all in for less.

Simon needed help to overcome Prociak's aces, and the 63Q only gave him a pair of sixes. The 2 turn opened a straight possibility for him, and the 5 river completed his wheel and doubled him up, placing him among the chipleaders.

Pot-Limit Omaha

David Prociak limped from the small blind and Eran Carmi checked the option from the big blind.

Prociak bet out 300,000 on the 2K10 flop and Carmi made the call.

Prociak would choose 1,700,000 this time as a bet size on the 7 turn and once again, Carmi called.

The river 6 would cause Prociak to slow down with a check and Carmi put him to the test with an all-in.

"It's going to be a minute, guys," said Prociak, who was deciding on whether to call for his tournament life.

After a few moments of deliberation, Prociak put in the calling chips.

Davied Prociak: J987
Eran Carmi: QJ96

Prociak's straight would be good for the double, taking a sizeable bite out of Carmi's chip lead.

De Silva got his chips in the middle with the best hand, but the 5JK flop pushed Saltsberg into the lead. The 2 turn provided no help to De Silva, and the 5 concluded his tournament with a seventh-place finish.

Pot-Limit Omaha

In the first of two hands involving Robert Mizrachi and David Simon early at the final table, action picked up on the turn with Mizrachi betting 640,000 from middle position on a board reading 252Q, after both players checked the flop, and Simon calling from the small blind.

Simon checked the 10 river over to Mizrachi and this time Mizrachi chose 1,500,000 as the bet sizing. Then, after some deliberation, Simon made the call and would muck after Mizrachi showed down J10108 for a rivered full house.

In the next hand, Simon would strike back with a raise to 350,000 from late position and a call from Mizrachi in the big blind.

Both players checked the AQ10 flop and then Mizrachi lead out for 800,000 on the 7 turn, which Simon called.

Mizrachi checked the 7 river and after a bit of deliberation, Simon announced all-in, sending Mizrachi into the tank.

Mizrachi would ultimately decide to fold after some time and when Simon was asked by the table to show the hand, he tabled KQ102, getting a reaction from the players.
