Vasquez Flops World, Gets There to Win Pot

Nível 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

A player in early position raised before Angel Vasquez, who was in the small blind, looked down at his cards.

Vasquez apparently liked what he saw because he called, as did the big blind, to bring three-way action to the flop.

The dealer placed 853 on the board, which Vasquez and the big blind checked. The original raiser bet 1,500, which Vasquez called. The big blind folded.

The 9 arrived on the turn, which both players checked. The dealer then put 8 on the river, which paired the board.

Vasquez checked, and his opponent bet 1,800. Vazquez snap-called and his opponent mucked his cards without revealing his hand.

“I have a straight,” Vasquez said as he tabled 76, showing he flopped open-ended straight, gut-shot straight flush, and flush draws, making his straight on the turn.

Boulais Doubles then Franklin Quadruples

Nível 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

On a heads-up turn board of 8969, the pot had around 10,000 in it and Reggie Franklin led out for all of his chips, covering his opponent, Joe Boulais.

Boulais only paused for a few seconds before making the call for his tournament life.

"Agh, nice call," Franklin sighed as he turned over KQ for just king high while Boulais flipped over A4 for the flopped nut flush.

The meaningless 8 came on the river to give Boulais a huge double-up to 85,000 early in the tournament.

Franklin, who was left short with only around 5,100, moved all in preflop the very next hand and managed to quadruple-up when he hit a straight on the river with A9 on a 7x7x6x8x10x board.

The flop came Q94 and Reid bet 1,200 which gained a call from the cutoff and folds from the small and big blind.

The 4 paired the board on the turn and Reid delivered the third barrel for 4,300 which was enough to get the cutoff to fold.

Cohen Powers Up, Takes Down Pot

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Matthew Cohen found himself in the small blind and watched some heavy action before he acted.

A player in early position raised 700 and then a player in late position three-bet to 1,700.

Cohen then looked down at his cards and four-bet to 4,500, which forced out the original raiser. The player in late position flatted.

The dealer fanned 47K on the flop, after which Cohen led out for 3,000. His opponent called.

The turn showed 10 and Cohen didn’t slow down with a 4,500 bet. Cohen’s action caused anxiety for his opponent, who alternated looks between his hand and the board. After a few moments, he showed JJ before mucking his hand.

“That’s respect,” Cohen’s opponent said.

Cohen then showed K in return before giving his hand to the dealer.

“That was a very good flop for me,” Cohen replied.

Easy Game for Holm

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

On a heads-up completed board of 27Q79, a player bet 6,100 into a pot of 32,000 and then Mike Holm moved all in to cover.

The original raiser went deep into the tank, clearly distraught with such a decision this early in the tournament.

"Man, I think you flopped a set, but I don't know if I can fold aces here," he admitted and flashed AA. The dealer informed him that he would incur a penalty for exposing his cards unless he killed his hand.

"Screw it, I'll take the penalty, I call!" he announced as he flipped over his aces, but then Holm showed 77 for quads to scoop the huge pot while his opponent was sent away fuming.
