Stop And Go Works Out For Hervas

Nível 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

There was 7,000 in the middle on a flop of A76 and the cutoff bet 2,000. Charles Hervas in the big blind moved all in for 20,800.

The cutoff went deep into the tank and seemed hesitant to throw their cards in the muck. However relief appeared on their face when Hervas revealed 76 for bottom two pair and took in the pot.

Reid Continues to Rise

Nível 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

With 5,000 in the middle at the turn with the board reading K1092, Terrance Reid bet 2,000 into three other players from under the gun. The button and big blind folded, but the small blind called.

The 7 completed the board and Reid bet 7,000 and got a call from the small blind. Reid tabled A7 for the nut flush and he now has more than triple the starting stack.

Don't Bluff Brito

Nível 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

On a heads-up turn of 63J8, Frederic Robert bet 2,500 after a check from his opponent, Fernando Brito.

Brito made the call and the duo went to the river K which saw another check from Brito and Robert fired again for 6,500.

Brito thought about it for a few seconds before flicking in the call.

"Ugh, you're good," Robert said as he flipped over 910 for a bricked straight and flush draw. He was then shown A4 by Brito for a missed flush as well but his ace-high was good to win the pot.

Neiman Doubles Up with Straight Flush

Nível 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

“Straight Flush!” a player yelled across the room. “I hit a straight flush.”

As PokerNews arrived at the table, 45698 was in the middle and at least three players were standing taking photos of the board.

An excited Phil Neiman had 75 in front of him, while his opponent had 87 showing, he flopped the nut straight, which Neiman vanquished on the river.

The dealer was pushing the pot to Neiman as he turned to explain the action.

According to Neiman, there was three-way action after the flop. A player in front of Neiman bet 3,200 and then Neiman said he raised to 15,000 on his combination draws. The player to his immediate left, who flopped the nut straight, then went all in, Neiman said.

It was an easy call for Neiman, who had multiple outs with his combination draw. His excitement showed with a large smile.

Jennifer Harman Remembers Doyle: "He Was Like a Marshmallow Puppy Dog to Me"

Nível 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Jennifer Harman
Jennifer Harman

Poker Hall of Famer Jennifer Harman has seen the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in all of its iterations. Harman won two bracelets when the World Series played at Binion's Horseshoe in downtown Las Vegas and made several final tables after the transition to Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in the mid-2000s.

Now, 27 years after her first WSOP final table in 1996, Harman finds herself at yet another World Series rendition at the rebranded Horseshoe Casino on the Strip. And while the golden U-shaped emblem outside the hotel is by and large the same, Harman said the modern venue doesn't compare to the WSOP's original home.

"It was such a cool atmosphere playing at Binion's; it's just nothing like that," Harman told PokerNews. "Now it's just like, you know, poker blew up and it's more ... it's still a really cool atmosphere, but it's just different. It's not a small room, musty, that kind of stuff. But it's still really cool. Poker's still really popular, so that's a pretty awesome thing."

PokerNews caught up with Harman last week as she played Day 1 of Event #25: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship at the 2023 WSOP to ask about her summer schedule, pick for the Poker Hall of Fame and her memories with the late Doyle Brunson.

Kurth Survives All-In Moment

Nível 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Michael Kurth, who was in the blinds, was short stacked and got involved in a three-way preflop pot with approximately 30,000 in the middle.

The pot grew after the dealer fanned 433 on the board. Kurth and the player to his right, who had Kurth covered, were all in, and their actions forced out a player in early position. The cards were then tabled.

Michael Kurth: 98
Opponent: Q3

Kurth was behind on the flop against trip threes, but the J appeared on the turn to give him a flush. He had to dodge a queen and the board pairing, but was safe when 7 hit the river.

While he remains short stacked, he scored a much-needed double up to keep hope alive.
