Montoya Gets To Keep His Aces

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The action folded around to Eduardo Montoya on the button who had only a single 1,000 chip left. He was pondering his decision before a player in the small blind told the dealer one of Montoya's cards were exposed. The rest of the table didn't see it before they folded and the tournament staff was called over to make a ruling.

The rule was that since there was action, Montoya's card would be exposed and he could play out the hand. He elected to move all in for 1,000 and the small blind raised to push the big blind out of the hand.

Eduardo Montoya: AA
Small Blind: A8

The table erupted in laugher as they saw that Montoya had aces and was able to keep them without receiving a new card. The board ran out 107367, and the aces held up to keep Montoya alive as the money bubble fast approaches.

Sandrock Dodges Bullets

Nível 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Chris Sandrock raised to 25,000 from the hijack and Quentin Peeters on the button, went all in for 91,000.

It was folded to the big blind, who went into the tank for several minutes. Eventually, the clock was called and he decided to fold. Sandrock took considerably less time to come to the same decision.

Peeters could not resist flipping over his AA.

Nível 17 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
David McGowan
David McGowan

The action started when a player in middle position opened for 18,000 and it folded to David Mcgowan in the big blind who three-bet to 62,000. The initial raiser pondered for a moment before moving all in for just over 145,000 and Mcgowan snap-called with a bigger stack.

Opponent: KK
David Mcgowan: AA

Mcgowan was on the right side of a cooler and when the board ran out Q8793, it was the rockets for Mcgowan that held up to send his opponent to the rail.

On the very next hand a player in the cutoff moved all in for close to 65,000 and it folded to Mcgowan in the small blind who reshoved a bigger stack. The big blind quickly folded and the cards were on their backs.

Opponent: KQ
David Mcgowan: AA

Mcgowan picked up aces in back-to-back hands and they were the exact same suit. The board ran out A9468, and the aces held up again to send another opponent to the exit.

Obregon Flops The World To Knockout Two Players

Nível 16 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

The action started when an under-the-gun player moved all in for 53,500 and Bryan Obregon made the call in early position. It folded around to the button who moved all in for 90,000 total and only Obregon called to put both players at risk.

Under The Gun: AQ
Button: AK
Bryan Obregon: AJ

Obregon had the worst kicker of the three, but when the flop came AJJ, it was the flopped boat for Obregon that took a commanding lead. The turn and river fell 76 and Obregon scored the massive pot to send both his opponents to the exit just before dinner break.
