Elsby Takes Early Pot With Ace-High

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

In a four-way pot with 3,900 in the middle on a flop showing 1087, three players checked their options to Matthew Elsby on the button who bet out 1,600. Only the player in middle position called and the pair saw the 10 turn.

The action was checked to Elsby again who bet out 4,000 and his opponent made the call. The 10 hit the river and both players elected on a check to a showdown.

The middle position player rolled over KJ for a missed straight draw and king-high while Elsby scored the pot with AJ for the missed flush draw and ace-high.

With large fields throughout the 2023 WSOP so far, it would be no surprise to see those numbers exceeded this time around. Players will start the day with 40,000 chips at blinds of 100/100 and a 100 big blind ante. Levels will last for 30 minutes with 20-minute break every four levels.

There will be an extended break for dinner after Level 16, beginning at roughly 7:00 p.m. and lasting for 75 minutes. They will play 22 levels on Day 1, then bag up their chips for the night. Late registration available until the start of Level 13. Survivors will return for Day 2 Monday, June 12th, at 10 a.m.

Stay locked in to PokerNews for live updates on all the action across this two-day event and all the other WSOP bracelet events.
