Dia 2 Começado
Welcome to Day 2 of Event #22: $10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship here at 2023 World Series of Poker at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. Of the 46 players who bagged and tagged last night, Nozomu Shimizu will enter today as the front-runner after amassing 334,000 in chips. Not far behind him is Kevin Song (322,000) and rounding out the top three is 2021 Main Event Champion Koray Aldemir, who will bring 266,000 to battle with on the felt.
Several other bracelet winners are also in contention, including but not limited to Andrew Kelsall (99,000), Dan Zack (111,000), Daniel Idema (135,000), Chris Vitch (154,000) 2015 Main Event Winner Joe McKeehen (194,000), and Shaun Deeb (122,000) — who is arguably the most accomplished WSOP player remaining, having five gold bracelets to his name in addition to being WSOP Player of The Year in 2018.
With late registration still open until the start of Day 2, we expect to see a handful of other notables enter and take their chances at running up a stack.

Joe McKeehen raised from the cutoff and was three-bet by Nozomu Shimizu in the small blind. Dylan Smith then four-bet from the big blind, McKeehen folded, and Shimizu called.
Shimizu check-called a bet from Smith on the 3♦3♠K♠ flop and both players checked on the 3♣ turn.
Shimizu led out for a bet on the 5♥ river and Smith folded — sending the pot Shimizu's way.

David "Bakes" Baker was all-in preflop for his short stack and at risk against Danny Wong.
David "Bakes" Baker: 9♥7♥
Danny Wong: A♥Q♣
Baker would need some help, but the K♣K♠4♠K♥10♠ runout kept Wong best with his ace — sending Baker to the rail early.

Nick Schulman called from the small blind before Rob Hollnik raised. Schulman called and the flop was J♦A♠10♠. Schulman bet and Hollnik called on the flop to see 8♣ on the turn. Both players checked the turn and the K♦ river before Schulman turned over A♦6♠ to take the pot with a pair of sixes.
Elsewhere, Joao Simao got his last 16,000 into the middle and Christopher Vitch was the one to put him at risk.
Joao Simao: 8♥8♣
Christopher Vitch: K♣Q♣
The board ran out 4♦K♦J♣9♥8♠ and Simao caught up to the flopped pair of kings to secure the double with a rivered set of eights.
Meanwhile, Phil Ivey stopped by to late reg on Day 2, but he's already out. Kevin Erickson and Roland Israelashvili have also hit the early rail.

Max Kruse and Mori Eskandani raised each other enough to reach the cap (20,000 for this level) for a bloated heads-up pot.
The flop came 9♦9♣4♥ and Kruse check-raised a bet from Eskandani all in to be put at risk.
Max Kruse: Q♠Q♣
Mori Eskandani: K♣K♥
Eskandani had Kruse in terrible shape, and the K♦ turn left Kruse drawing dead.
An irrelevant 10♦ completed the board and Eskandani collected the rest of Kruse's chips.
