Pak Drills the Turn

Nível 17 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Action folded to Edward Pak in middle position who made a wager of 25,000 chips. The action then made its way to a late position who was the effective stack and jammed all in. When it was back on Pak he only took a moment before calling off.

The hands hit their back.

Late position: AK
Edward Pak: J10

The 7Q9 flop was gold for Pak as he was open ended and his opponent no longer would want to hit a king. Like clockwork that K hit the turn and his opponent was drawing dead. Pak Chipped up in a big way going late into day 1.

Sharma Survives

Nível 17 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Action opened with Zac Sharma raising to 24,000 from early position. The player in middle position then raised to 75,000. The big blind was already all in from his blind, and Sharma put in the remainder of his chips to put himself at risk as well.

Big Blind: KJ
Zac Sharma: QQ
Middle Position: 88

Sharma was ahead, although the 765 flop brought the threat of a straight for middle position. The 6 hit the turn and was followed by the 5 on the river, keeping Sharma's queens up as the best hand. Sharma, who was down to only 24,000 as the bubble approached, pulled in a nice pot.

Anton Morgenstern was one card away from nearly bubbling a high roller at the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP), but a lucky one-outer on the river kept him alive.

In Event #23: $50,000 High Roller (8-Handed), with 21 players remaining, Morgenstern was down to just 12 big blinds. That put him in a tough position because only 19 of the 124 who began the tournament would be paid.

Dais' Aggression Paying Off

Nível 16 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Action began preflop with Donnell Dais, in early position, raising to 20,000 and being called by the button.

The flop came KA9 and the button checked. Dais then led out for 30,000. His opponent took a minute before tossing in a call.

The turn brought the 9, and again Dais' opponent checked. Dais placed a stack of red chips out for a bet of 100,000, and his opponent began to think. After counting his chips and mulling it over, he chose to muck, giving Dais the pot without a showdown.
