Event #18: $300 Gladiators of Poker at the 2023 World Series of Poker at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas will today be played to its conclusion as we crown a champion.

After the largest player pool of the 2023 WSOP came virtue of the inaugural Gladiator event, a field size of 23,088 amassed through all four starting flights. This number was whittled down to just 827 players for the start of play on Day 2. After an additional 17 levels of play, only 14 players remain in the running for the bracelet as the final stage of play commences on Day 3 and we play down to a winner.

Of those, Eric Trexler solidified his place as chip leader bagging 97,400,000 for the restart today. Right behind Trexler is Caio Sobral, who bagged 94,000,000 and is also securing the first-ever WSOP cash of his poker career. As well as Sobral, Salvatroe Boi, Tim Williams and Willie Smith will all be claiming their first-lifetime World Series cash.

Each remaining player is guaranteed a payout of $23,298, but all have their eyes on the $499,852 for first place, as well as the all-important 18th gold bracelet of the 2023 WSOP.

In the spirit of these lower buy-in, big field tournaments, none of the players remaining have earned a WSOP bracelet in their poker careers, ensuring today will be a first-time win for whomever is crowned champion.

Day 3 will begin on Monday, June 12th, at noon local time at the feature tables in the Horseshoe event center as we play down to a winner through forty-minute levels. Alongside breaks of 15 minutes every three levels, today's structure will also include a dinner break of which the time and length is to be determined.

Stay tuned to PokerNews as we play down to the winner of this event and for all updates regarding the 2023 WSOP.
