Matakis' Turn Stab Takes Down the Pot

Nível 29 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

In a blind vs blind confrontation, Ian Matakis opened from the small to 390,000, Kevin Choi in the big blind defended.

Both players saw a flop of K56 and Matakis continued for 270,000. Choi called.

The turn brought a third diamond virtue of the 4. Matakis chose to barrel again, this time for 720,000. Choi thought for a considerable amount of time and even counted out exact calling chips, but finally decided on folding. Matakis wins the pot.

Day 3 of Event #15: $1,500 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em Begins at Noon

Event #15: $1,500 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em at the 2023 World Series of Poker at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas will today be played to its conclusion on Day 3 as we crown a winner.

After an initial field of 2,454 was whittled down to 369 players on the first day of play, Day 2 saw only 15 players reach the final day as they all remain in the running for the converted bracelet.

Of those, Sarah Herzali solidified her place as an overwhelming chip lead bagging 12,800,000 for the restart today, nearing 5,000,000 more than her closest competitor Rafael Reis who will be joining Herzali on Day 3 with 7,825,000.

Each remaining player is guaranteed a payout of $28,654 but all have their eyes on the $465,501 for first place, as well as the all-important fifteenth gold bracelet of the 2023 WSOP.

Out of the remaining field, three players have already earned the first bracelet of their careers, including three-time bracelet winner Upeshka De Silva and four-time bracelet winner John Monnette. Ian Matakis is looking for his second bracelet of this summer after winning the Online Event #2: $500 No-Limit Hold'em Bankroll Builder.

Day 3 will take place on the feature tables in the Horseshoe Event Center as we play down to a winner through 60-minute levels. Alongside breaks of 15 minutes every two levels, today's structure will also include a dinner break of which the time and length is to be determined.
