Morisson Doubles Up Before Break

Nível 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

With blinds and antes on the rise each level, players with short stacks are picking spots to put their tournament lives at risk.

Brandon Morisson found himself in that exact situation minutes before the first break.

Morisson, who had 630,000 in front of him, moved all in early position. A player in late position made the call and the action went to the flop after the blinds folded.

Morisson: Q9
Opponent: AK

The dealer placed J4J on the board, leaving Morisson behind his opponent. But Morisson had outs with the flush draw and he could also pair any of his two cards.

The turn produced J, and then Morrison got his card when 7 arrived on the river to give him the flush and a much-needed double up.

Hey, Mr.Robinson!

Nível 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Greg Robinson found himself at risk in a dream scenario when he raised and ended up all in threeways. Just in time, as his stack was getting short and the blinds were going up.

Greg Robinson: AA
Middle Position: JJ
Big Blind: 83

The big blind covered both players rather heftily and didn't lament his propensity to gamble. He was just rooting for the suck out, but when the board spread 3A9, it would be a far cry for anyone to catch up. Robinson lit up with a smile as the K rolled, followed by the 9.

Burgin Blasts the Flop

Nível 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

James Burgin limped under the gun before the player on his left raised to 180,000. The action quickly folded back around to Burgin and he made the call.

The dealer spread a flop of AQ8 and Burgin pushed out a stack of greens for a bet of 400,000. His opponent pondered his decision for about 10 seconds before letting it go.

The Nines Giveth, The Nines Taketh

Nível 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Tom Bona, a short stack, went all-in in early position and was called by Phil Hellmuth to his left and by another player in late position.

A side pot was created when Hellmuth bet 100,000 on a board of 2A5. His opponent called and the K peeled on the turn. Both players checked and the 9 hit the river.

Another round of checks prompted Hellmuth to turn over JJ, his opponent turned over the JJ and, ironically for Hellmuth, Tom Bona rolled over the 99 for the main pot. The jacks chopped the side.

Williamson’s Aggression Pays Off

Nível 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Peter Williamson raised to 125,000 from under the gun, prompting the action to fold to a player in the big blind, who made the call.

The dealer placed 523 on the board, which the big blind checked. Williamson methodically counted out 170,000 from his stack and pushed it forward. His opponent made the call.

The 10 hit the turn, which the big blind checked. Williamson took a moment to study the board, and then reached down with both hands and pushed the rest of his stack forward as an all-in bet.

His opponent leaned back in his chair, glancing repeatedly at Williamson, who didn’t flinch. The opponent went in the tank for a little more than a minute, studying the board and counting his own stack, which barely covered Williamson, before folding.

“Did you have a pair?” the player in the big blind asked.

Williamson peeked down at his cards, then looked to his opponent with a wide grin without giving a verbal response as he tossed his hand to the middle of the table.
