Boukai Gets Quartered; Ichinose Survives

Nível 29 : 80,000/160,000, 0 ante

On a {q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{q-Clubs} board, Kosei Ichinose was all in and up against both Rami Boukai and James Chen.

Ichinose held {2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for a full house and a low. Boukai showed {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for a flush and the same low. Chen mucked.

Ichinose won three-quarters of the pot, but Boukai still remains above three million in chips.

Kyung Lee Eliminated in 17th Place ($10,053)

Kyung Lee

Kyung Lee had bet all streets leading up to the river, facing up against Murilo Figueredo, and the river board of {10-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} saw him getting all his chips in the middle.

Lee tabled {9-}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-} for an eight-high flush but then Figueredo showed his {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{6-}{3-} for a bigger flush to win the pot.

"Unbelievable," Lee muttered to himself as he exited the tournament area.

Lee was eliminated in 17th place for a payout of $10,053.

Travis Pine was all in pre-flop with {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades} against the {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts} of Paul Zappulla.

The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs} with Zappulla turning a six-high straight which was good enough for the high and the low, sending Pine to the rails.

On a turn board of {2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{q-}, Koesi Ichinose raised Amnon Filippi, but then Filippi 3-bet, putting Ichinose all in.

Ichinose then called, putting himself at risk of elimination.

Ichinose: {a-}{a-}{7-}{4-}

Filippi: {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-}

The river came the {5-Diamonds} and Filippi's flopped set of tens held to award him the pot, busting Ichinose.

Ichinose was handed a payout stub for 14th place and $10,053.

In cutoff position, Anil Jivani was short-stacked going up against James Chen on the button and Amnon Filippi in the big blind. The flop came down {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}.

Filippi bet, Jivani went all in for his remaining 15,000 and Chen called.

A {7-Hearts} showed up on the turn and Filippi and Chen bet into their side pot.

On the river was a {j-Spades} and cards were flipped up. Jivani showed {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} but his kings didn't hold up against Filippi's {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades} for the low or Chen's {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for the high.

James Chen Eliminated in 12th Place ($12,391)

James Chen (US)
James Chen (US)

After Amnon Filippi bet on a turn board of {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, James Chen then raised all in. Filippi then reraised to force out the other opponent and the two were going to a river with Chen at risk.

Chen: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Filippi: {4-Spades}{3-Spades}{q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

The {7-} river paired the board again but Chen was left with two pair, no low, and Filippi's flopped straight was good to scoop, busting Chen.

Chen headed to the payout desk in 12th place for $12,391.
