With 96,000 in the middle on a completed board of {j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{j-Hearts}, Vasil Medarov bet the pot and then sigh-called the all-in of Patrick Leonard for little more. Leonard tabled the {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Medarov mucked the {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} before paying 114,500 to his table neighbour.

Nguyen Sometimes Has It; Sometimes Not

Nível 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Thi Xoa Nguyen
Thi Xoa Nguyen

Tommy Le recalled a hand in which Thi Xoa Nguyen ran a triple barrel bluff with the {a-}{j-}{7-}{7-} on a {k-}{6-}{4-}{8-}{10-} board, which was looked up by Le with the {a-}{k-}{q-}{6-} for two pair.

Nguyen was involved in the action again just now and bet the {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} turn as well as the {3-Diamonds} river with the final bet worth 34,000. Her sole remaining opponent reluctantly called and Nguyen tabled the {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for the straight.

"Ah, so sometimes you have it ..." the comment came while Nguyen raked in the pot with a smile. Naor Slobodskoy chimed in that they would have snap-called earlier had they known Nguyen's aggressive approach, which caused some laughter at the table.

Gonzales Vanishes After Big Clash With Fourie

Nível 9 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Matthew Gonzales
Matthew Gonzales

With 35,500 in the middle to the {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop, Matthew Gonzales and Conrad Fourie got their chips in and it was Fourie as the player at risk in a significant pot.

Conrad Fourie: {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Matthew Gonzales: {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Gonzales was drawing slim but found some hope with the {6-Hearts} turn. However, the {9-Spades} river was of no help as Fourie doubled for 164,500. Gonzales was left with around 30,000 in chips and disappeared shortly thereafter.

Medarov Soars to a Large Stack

Vasil Medarov

In a preflop four-bet pot to the {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop, the opponent of Vasil Medarov already moved all-in in the dark with the covering stack and said "why don't we save the time and get it in already". Once it was on Medarov, he called all-in for 127,900 and tabled the {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs} for two pair.

He was up against {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Spades} and remained ahead throughout the {7-Hearts} turn and {q-Clubs} river to join the current chip leaders.

McCormick Moves All In; Gets Satisfaction

Nível 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Tom McCormick
Tom McCormick

On a turn board of {j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, Tom McCormick faced a bet of 3,000 from a player in late position and a call by Matthew Gonzales in the hijack.

McCormick then began singing "Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones as he tossed his final 14,500 forward, putting extra emphasis on the "I can't get no" part of the lyrics.

Tablemates and curious onlookers at nearby tables had a good laugh, while McCormick's opponents both folded, giving McCormick the satisfaction of taking down a pot to keep him alive in the tournament.

Sinn Felted by Haiduc

Charles Sinn
Charles Sinn

Charles Sinn limped in and then called a raise to 4,000 by Florin Haiduc, as did a third player in the hand that then got out of the way on the {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} on which Sinn bet 5,000. Haiduc raised to 15,000 and Sinn called all in for around 14,300.

The {q-Clubs} turn and {3-Diamonds} river were both blanks and that spelled the end for Sinn.

Madsen Drops More

Nível 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Jeff Madsen
Jeff Madsen

Jeff Madsen has seen half his stack disappear in the last couple of levels, including a chunk in this recent hand with Ronald Keijzer.

With approximately 12,000 in the pot on a turn board of {9-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}{k-Spades}, Madsen led out from the small blind for 11,100.

Keijzer called and saw the {6-Diamonds} fall on the river. Madsen put out another bet, this time for 7,200, and he was met by an all-in raise from Keijzer for 21,400.

Madsen was visibly frustrated, shaking his head and flipping his hands as he pondered his decision before making the call.

Keijzer tabled {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for a flopped full house of nines over deuces. Madsen mucked his hand and sent another healthy portion of his chips to a different part of the table.

Liu Eliminated by Greene

Sasha Liu

Just before the blinds went up, the board showed {q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and Sasha Liu bet 8,000 out of the big blind with a shorter stack behind. Jonathan Greene then raised the pot by tossing in several T-5,000 chips and that sent Liu into the tank.

Arthur Morris eventually called the clock on her and the floorman arrived with two minutes left in the level. With thirty seconds running down, Liu called it off and was shown the {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a full house as her {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades} for kings and queens was no good.

Bleznick Back From the Brink

Nível 5 : 300/600, 600 ante
Jared Bleznick
Jared Bleznick

Jared Bleznick was seen not long ago with as little as 5,500 chips, but he's rebuilt his stack before dropping a bit in this pot.

With 10,500 in the pot on a completed board of {j-Clubs}{k-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}, Cody Rich checked to Bleznick, who bet the size of the pot.

Rich made the call, and Bleznick rolled over {a-Spades}{7-Spades}, saying "you win, one pair."

Rich then showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for a king-high straight and the winner.

Even with the loss, Bleznick is back over starting stack after nearly being out the door.
