Maas Over 700,000 After Hitting Quad Aces vs. Pocket Kings

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

An early position player shoved around 28,000 and Don Maas called from middle position. The big blind also called.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts} and after a betting war, Maas was all in for 321,000 against the big blind.

Early Position: {7-}{7-}
Don Maas: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Big Blind: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

To everyone's shock, both Maas and the big blind had each slow played their monster holdings, with Maas looking at a massive chip up.

The {a-Hearts} turn gave Maas the pot worth around 750,000 while the {a-Spades} completed the board and gave him quads.

2022 WSOP Featured Females: Meet Wendeen Eolis, 1st Woman to Ever Cash Main Event

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Wendeen Eolis
Wendeen Eolis

In the mid 1980’s, women were considered no factor in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, and other than the famous rounder and professional gambler Thomas “Amarillo Slim” Preston, poker players rarely made headlines in the mainstream press. That all changed when Wendeen Eolis became the first woman to cash at poker’s “Big Dance.”

In the 1986 WSOP Main Event, Eolis battled some of the best players in the world, including Amarillo Slim, in a field of 141 runners. She was on her way to a 25th-place finish for a $10,000, return on her buy-in, and permanent bragging rights as the first woman in history to cash in the WSOP Main Event.

Eolis attributes her 1986 WSOP performance to a year of poker tutoring from one of the best, a “relatively” conservative game plan, and cooperative cards. She told PokerNews, “Even today, women can win more by bluffing less than men.”

Tim Neufeld: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The river brought the {6-Hearts} and Neufeld took down the pot to go above the million-chip mark.

Pilossoph and Van Der Burg Clash in Battle of Neighbors

Nível 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Eric Van Der Burg
Eric Van Der Burg

Eric Van Der Burg had already raised to 30,000 when Billy Pilossoph on his direct left re-raised to 90,000.

Van Der Burg commented that Pilossoph had been raising him a lot.

He opted to call and the flop brought the {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{a-Clubs}. Van Der Burg checked as Pilossophy counted out a bet.

"Don't do it," said Van Der Burg.

Pilossophy added even more chips into the stack before pushing forward 75,000 and Van Der Burg almost beat him into the pot with a call.

The turn brought the {3-Hearts} and Van Der Burg checked again. Pilossophy moved all in for about 260,000 to send his neighbor into the tank.

Van Der Burg took a his time, talking to Pilossophy despite getting no reaction from the man on his left.

Finally, Van Der Burg folded {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} pocket jacks face up and Pilossophy took in the pot.
