Justin Liberto
Justin Liberto

With 203 players returning today for only 196 places getting paid, this Event #58: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better at the 2022 World Series of Poker will start in a somewhat brutal way for seven players. Then, once the money bubble has burst, it will be time for the rest to focus on the objective of winning this WSOP Gold bracelet. It won't be tonight, however, because this tournament is scheduled for a third day on Wednesday.

With Justin Liberto as the current chipleader (791,000), defending champion Kevin Gerhart (147,000) is also in the race with almost an average stack, and he'll be joined by a lot of WSOP champions like David Prociak, Raj Vohra, Connor Drinan, Jared Jaffee, Eoghan O'Dea, Leif Force and Jeff Lisandro, to name a few who have more than the chip average.

Players will play through 10 levels, beginning at Level 16, with 3,000/6,000 blinds with a 6,000 big blind ante. Levels will be extended from 40 to 60 minutes long for the remainder of the event. A 15-minute break is scheduled after every two levels, with a 60-minute dinner break slated for after Level 21, expected to be around 8:30 p.m. local time.

Stay connected to PokerNews for all updates on the 2022 World Series Of Poker in its new home at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas.

Kerber Takes The Rest Of Miner

Nível 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

After a raise in early position from Kevin Kerber to 21,000, Benjamin Miner announced pot for almost 75,000. Kerber tanked for a while before he called. Both players had around 50,000 behind.

On a {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop, Kerber put the rest of his chips into the middle and Miner snap-called.

Benjamin Miner: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{4-Spades}
Kevin Kerber: {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades}

The turn {5-Spades} gave a straight to Kerber and Miner was drawing only for a chop pot for the low, or for an ace to win the high. But the river {j-Diamonds} was no help for Miner.

Benjamin Miner had exactly 47,000, against 50,000 for Kerber, and is eliminated. Two more players to eliminate and we'll reach the money.

Seven Is Always Coming

Nível 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

First to act, Jason Adams raised it to 12,000 and Scott Baumstein called from the big blind.
Then, on a {3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop, Baumstein check-called 10,000 to the turn {9-Hearts} before he led 40,000. Adams raised all in for 142,000 and Baumstein called.

Jason Adams: {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Scott Baumstein: {2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts}

Those two players are probably going to split that pot, with Baumstein holding a straight, and Adams with the A-2 for the Lo. But Jason Adam just called for the only card which could make it scoop that pot.

"Seveeen", screamed Adam. The dealer put a {7-Clubs} on the river to achieve that board, and Adam took everything after he made a higher straight.

"Dealer, next hand please", said the tournament director on the microphone, "a guy called for a seven, and he hit it !"

Jacob Brundage Bubbles Event #58: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha

Nível 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Darryll Fish called in first position and the small blind called with Jacob Brundage posting his last 6,000.

The flop came out {2-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} and the small blind checked to Fish who bet 6,000 which produced a fold from the small blind.

Jacob Brundage: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Darryll Fish: {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

The turn of {4-Diamonds} left Brundage drawing dead before the {10-Hearts} river hit and the remaining 196 players all guaranteed themselves $2,404.
