Anthony Ruttler Eliminated in 7th Place ($66,670)

Nível 45 : 3,000,000/6,000,000, 0 ante
Anthony Ruttler
Anthony Ruttler

Anthony Ruttler moved all in for 14,000,000 from the button as small blind Paul Hizer quickly got out of the way. In the big blind, Luong Quach snap-called.

Anthony Ruttler: {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Luong Quach: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Quach had woken up with queens for the second consecutive hand and was a big favorite to knock out Ruttler as the flop came {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}.

Ruttler's supporters on the rail began chanting for a nine to complete a straight draw, but the {k-Clubs} on the turn took away some of his outs as Quach now had a flush draw.

The {7-Clubs} on the river completed Quach's flush and sent Ruttler to the rail as the first elimination of the day.

Quach Doubles His Short Stack

Nível 45 : 3,000,000/6,000,000, 0 ante

Luong Quach was down to just 3.5 big blinds and shoved all in from under the gun. Jordan Pelon was next to act and gave it some thought before ditching his {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} into the muck. Sam Laskowitz, however, made the call with the big stack and the rest of the table folded.

Luong Quach: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Sam Laskowitz: {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

Quach was well out front with his pocket queens and the board ran out {j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} to give him a double up.

Laskowitz Continues to Bluff the Table

Nível 45 : 3,000,000/6,000,000, 0 ante

Paul Hizer opened to 12,000,000 in the cutoff with {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} and Sam Laskowitz defended from the big blind with {q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. The flop came {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and the two big stacks checked through to the {4-Diamonds} on the turn and the {8-Diamonds} on the river.

Laskowitz finally slid out a bet of 10,000,000 on the river with just queen-high and Hizer threw the best hand into the muck once again.

Two Three-Bets From Laskowitz

Nível 44 : 2,500,000/5,000,000, 0 ante

Paul Hizer raised to 10,000,000 in the cutoff before Sam Laskowitz re-raised to 30,000,000 from the big blind. Hizer quickly slid his cards back to the dealer to hand the pot, and the tournament chip lead, to Laskowitz.

Three hands, Hizer again raised to 10,000,000 and Laskowitz three-bet to 26,500,000 in the cutoff. Anthony Ruttler gave the decision some thought before folding before Hizer also folded as Laskowitz raked in another pre-flop pot.

2022 WSOP Featured Females: Meet Wendeen Eolis, 1st Woman to Ever Cash Main Event

Nível 44 : 2,500,000/5,000,000, 0 ante
Wendeen Eolis
Wendeen Eolis

In the mid 1980’s, women were considered no factor in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, and other than the famous rounder and professional gambler Thomas “Amarillo Slim” Preston, poker players rarely made headlines in the mainstream press. That all changed when Wendeen Eolis became the first woman to cash at poker’s “Big Dance.”

In the 1986 WSOP Main Event, Eolis battled some of the best players in the world, including Amarillo Slim, in a field of 141 runners. She was on her way to a 25th-place finish for a $10,000, return on her buy-in, and permanent bragging rights as the first woman in history to cash in the WSOP Main Event.

Eolis attributes her 1986 WSOP performance to a year of poker tutoring from one of the best, a “relatively” conservative game plan, and cooperative cards. She told PokerNews, “Even today, women can win more by bluffing less than men.”

Another Double for Scott

Nível 44 : 2,500,000/5,000,000, 0 ante

The action folded around to Sam Laskowitz in the small blind who ripped all in with the big stack at the table. James Scott was in the big blind and called off his stack of 44,500,000 as he was at risk.

James Scott: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Sam Laskowitz: {10-Spades}{3-Spades}

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs} to give Laskowitz a pair of threes but Scott was still in the lead with a pair of fours. The {6-Diamonds} and {9-Clubs} runout did not help Laskowitz as Scott found another double up.
