Kornuth Sits Down to Aces

Nível 3 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Chance Kornuth
Chance Kornuth

Christoph Vogelsang raised it up on the button and Chance Kornuth, who just took his seat in the big blind, three-bet to 80,000. Vogelsang called and they went heads-up to a flop of {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

Kornuth checked to Vogelsang who bet 55,000 and Kornuth just called. The turn was the {4-Clubs} and Kornuth checked again. Vogelsang threw in a bet of 215,000 this time and Kornuth still called.

The {3-Spades} peeled off on the river and Kornuth quickly checked once more. Vogelsang pushed all but 1,000 chips into the middle, for a bet of 551,000. Kornuth asked for a count and then flicked in a single chip to signify a call. Kornuth instantly revealed {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} and Vogelsang flashed his {k-}{j-} before they went into the muck.

Nível 3 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Michael Addamo
Michael Addamo

Kathy Lehne raised it up in middle position and Michael Addamo re-raised to 45,000 on her left. The action folded back to Lehne who called to see a flop of {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Spades}.

Lehne check-called a bet of 30,000 from Addamo and the {4-Diamonds} landed on the turn. Lehne checked again and Addamo splashed in a bet of 110,000. Lehne still called and the {q-Spades} completed the board.

Lehne eyed up Addamo's stack and then threw in a bet of 300,000. Addamo, sitting with less than that, instantly ditched his cards to the muck.

Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

Bryn Kenney is making his second appearance at the 2022 World Series of Poker, after playing in the very first $100,000 High Roller Bounty event nearly a month ago. Kenney is a well-known high-stakes poker pro but has come across plenty of controversies as of late. It will be interesting to see if Kenney can make a deep run and add a good chunk of change to his #1 all-time live tournament winnings.

Aldemir Takes Back-to-Back Pots

Nível 2 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Koray Aldemir
Koray Aldemir

Christoph Vogelsang raised to 13,000 from middle position and Seth Davies called from the button before Koray Aldemir came along from the big blind. The flop was {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

Aldemir and Vogelsang checked the flop before Davies bet 15,000. Aldemir called and Vogelsang ducked out of the way as the dealer turned the {10-Spades}. Both players checked the turn and Aldemir bet 115,000 when {3-Diamonds} came on the river. It was too much for Davies and he tossed his hand into the muck to give Aldemir the pot.

On the next hand, Vogelsang raised to 12,000 again and Michael Addamo called from late position before Masashi Oya joined from the button. Aldemir raised to 82,000 from the small blind and Vogelsang called before Addamo and Oya got out of the way. The flop was {2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}.

Aldemir continued for 128,000 on the flop and Vogelsang called to see {7-Spades} on the turn. Both players checked.

The river was {8-Hearts} and Aldemir bet 117,000. Vogelsang spent a full 30 seconds before he tossed in a single chip to call. Aldemir turned over {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} to take the pot with deuces full of tens and Vogelsang tossed the losing hand in the muck.

Fasten your seatbelts and buckle up tightly as the highest buy-in event of the 2022 World Series of Poker is about to begin. The best high-stakes players in the world are set to kick off Event #50: $250,000 Super High Roller NLH today at 3:00 p.m. inside the Bally's and Paris Las Vegas ballroom.

Just days ago, Aleksejs Ponakovs defeated a field of 62 entries in the $100,000 High Roller event, defeating Phil Ivey in an epic heads-up match. Now, the buy-in has increased and the stakes will be even bigger for many of those that will be looking to add a seven-figure payday to their resume.

Last year, Adrian Mateos captured his fourth WSOP gold bracelet in this same event. The Spanish poker pro overcame a field of 33 entries and defeated Ben Heath en route to the title and the $3.2 million first-place prize. You can expect to see Mateos back on the felt today in hopes of defending his title from just six months ago.
