Ahmadi Cracks Kings

Nível 19 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

All of the money got in the middle between two players, creating a pot of over 800,000. Nick Ahmadi on the button had his opponent in late position covered, and when they turned over their holdings, Ahmadi was behind.

Late Position: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Nick Ahmadi: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{q-Hearts} flop was just what Ahmadi wanted, and the player with kings stood up the moment he saw the ace in window. Ahmadi hardly moved in his seat, and continued to enjoy the turn of {9-Spades} making his top pair, two pair.

The player at risk needed a king, but wouldn't find it on the {3-Diamonds} river. Ahmadi's opponent was sent to the payout desk, and he had to use both hands to rake in one of the biggest pots of Day 1C.

Jimenez Takes Down Three Way All-In Pot with Pocket Rockets

Nível 18 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Action was picked up on the button preflop who moved all in with the short stack of 168,000. Action folded to Patricio Jimenez in middle position, who moved all in as well. Finally, the hijack, with both players covered, called. The players flipped over their hands.

Button: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Patricio Jimenez: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Hijack: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Before dealing the board, the dealer counted out the main and side pots. Each of the three players put 168,000 into the main pot, and the two bigger stacks each put an additional 81,000 into the side pot.

With the pots sorted out and the hands tabled, all that was left to do was runout the board. That board came {3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. With the low flop, all three players missed completely, ensuring that Jimenez' aces held.

Nível 18 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Kathy Liebert
Kathy Liebert

Daniel Saad made a play from middle position, shoving his stack in preflop for a 101,000 all in. Kathy Liebert made the call from the button and the blinds folded.

Daniel Saad: {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Kathy Liebert: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

The flop ran out {10-Spades}{j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}, leading Saad to call for a Ten for the chop.

The {7-Spades} on the turn, however, changed his tone.

"Eight, Eight!" called Saad.

And he was rewarded. The river fell {8-Clubs}, doubling Saad up, keeping his bracelet hopes alive.

Liebert still has an above-average stack and is chasing her second bracelet.

Liu's Run Comes to an End, Quintin's Just Beginning

Nível 18 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
JJ Liu
JJ Liu

JJ Liu pushed forward her last 7,000 and was at risk against one opponent.

JJ Liu: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The {6-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} runout paired Liu's king and she moved back up to 45,000.

On the next hand, Liu was back at risk again preflop against the same player.

JJ Liu: {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Liu was behind but the {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{q-Spades} runout chopped the pot with a straight and she moved up to 70,000 with the extra dead money in the middle.

Not long after she was at risk yet again, this time against big stack Shea Quintin.

JJ Liu: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Shea Quintin: {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Liu had kicker problems that the {6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} runout would not resolve and the Women In Poker Hall of Fame member took her leave.

Meanwhile, Quintin has amassed a massive stack of well over a million.

Nível 17 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Mark Seif
Mark Seif

In the very first hand, after they just announced that the bubble burst in this event, Mark Seif shoved his entire stack of 163,000 into an already raised pot. The opponent, who had raised to 70,000, called Seif's all-in and had him covered.

Mark Seif: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

The flop gave Seif's opponent an overpair but also gave Seif a set with {5-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

The {k-Spades} turn and {7-Hearts} river sealed Seif's fate.

Ghubrial Fails To Pop Arnold's Bubble

Nível 17 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Daniel Ghubrial and Travis Arnold got it all in blind vs blind on the hard bubble.

Action folded around to Ghubrial in the small, and he raised to 40,000, covering Arnold's remaining 15,000 chips. Arnold called off and the cards were flipped.

Travis Arnold: {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Daniel Ghubrial: {k-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

Despite being ahead, Arnold was desperate not to be the bubble boy, and Ghubrial was reluctant to knock him out.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{j-Diamonds}, giving Arnold another 4 cards to try and dodge.

An unfortunate {q-Spades} on the turn had him holding his head in his hands and Ghubrial started to apologize, however a rivered {k-Diamonds} brought cheers all around the table and both players embraced as the board nullified their hands.

Arnold took his chips back and they chopped the blinds.

The reason for the camaraderie became clear as Ghubrial explained that in the hand previously, they had both gotten it in with {a-}{q-} vs {j-}{j-} and Ghubrial had doubled through Arnold, leaving him with only his 30,000 chips left.
