Shulman's Pain is Roshkovan's Pleasure

Nível 21 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Jeff Shulman
Jeff Shulman

After an early position player made it 60,000 to go, Jeff Shulman shipped in his remaining 180,000. Victoria Roshkovan was next to shove, for less than Shulman, and the original raiser asked for a count before tossing in a call.

Victoria Roshkovan: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Jeff Shulman: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Original Raiser: {a-Spades}{3-Spades}

The {8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs} was a good one for Shulman to keep his pair in front. The turn {6-Hearts} was clean for Shulman, but the {10-Hearts} peeled off on the river to send Roshkovan the main pot, and leave Shulman back where he started with the side pot.

Liu's Run Comes to an End, Quintin's Just Beginning

Nível 18 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
JJ Liu
JJ Liu

JJ Liu pushed forward her last 7,000 and was at risk against one opponent.

JJ Liu: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The {6-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} runout paired Liu's king and she moved back up to 45,000.

On the next hand, Liu was back at risk again preflop against the same player.

JJ Liu: {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Liu was behind but the {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{q-Spades} runout chopped the pot with a straight and she moved up to 70,000 with the extra dead money in the middle.

Not long after she was at risk yet again, this time against big stack Shea Quintin.

JJ Liu: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Shea Quintin: {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Liu had kicker problems that the {6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} runout would not resolve and the Women In Poker Hall of Fame member took her leave.

Meanwhile, Quintin has amassed a massive stack of well over a million.

Pocket Pair Gives Seif the Double Up He Needs

Nível 17 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Mark Seif
Mark Seif

In the very first hand, after they just announced that the bubble burst in this event, Mark Seif shoved his entire stack of 163,000 into an already raised pot. The opponent, who had raised to 70,000, called Seif's all-in and had him covered.

Mark Seif: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

The flop gave Seif's opponent an overpair but also gave Seif a set with {5-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

The {k-Spades} turn and {7-Hearts} river sealed Seif's fate.

Depaulo Uses One Time For Hundredth Time

Nível 14 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Ryan Depaulo
Ryan Depaulo

Action is picked up as Ryan Depaulo gets it in preflop for 62,000.

The hands were tabled and the players were off to the races.

Ryan Depaulo: {5-}{5-Spades}
Late Position: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The flop ran out {9-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-}, keeping Depaulo ahead but offering his opponent a gutshot as well as his two overs.

A {j-Spades} turn was bad news for Depaulo, giving his opponent the nut straight. DePaulo wasn't quite dead though.

The 20% Team Pro boost came in as he hit the {2-Spades} on the river for the flush, giving him a needed double and keeping his hopes of a second bracelet alive. Hopefully this time from the comfort of a casino chair.

The Dragon Runs Hot

Nível 14 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
David Pham
David Pham

David "The Dragon" Pham ran hot as he got it in three ways.

An early position player limped in for 6,000, and Pham raised to 18,000 preflop. The hijack, button, big blind and early position limper all elected to call.

The flop was deceiving as it fell {6-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

The action checked to Pham. He opened for 28,000. The button then moved all in for 67,000, and play folded to the early position limper who re-shoved for 75,000. Pham took a moment and thought, before calling off and cards are flipped.

Button: {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Early position limper: {j-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
David Pham: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The button was a strong favorite, and the early position was open ended, however Pham needed a lot of help.

The turn showed a {7-Hearts}, bringing a flush draw for Pham.

The river fell {9-Hearts}, completing the straight for the early position player but also bringing in Pham's flush. It took a moment for the table to notice the winning hand however, as the early position starts to celebrate, but Pham cut this short, slapping his hand on the table repeatedly.

Two players fell to the Dragon as he climbed to just under half a million chips.

Mather and Alleyn, Set Over Set

Nível 13 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Robert Mather
Robert Mather

Robert Mather was all-in for his remaining stack from the button, and Anthony Alleyn snap-called from the big blind.

Robert Mather: {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Anthony Alleyn: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

After they tabled their cards, Mather stood up and put on his backpack.

The flop was {j-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, and Alleyn was well in the lead.

Lightning struck on the turn, and Mather spiked the {4-Spades} for a set, almost prompting him to sit back down in his seat.

However, lightning would strike twice, as the {k-Clubs} gave Alleyn the better set.

Alleyn clapped loudly in celebration, and Mather was eliminated.

It's Been a Long Road for "Amtrak Mike"

Nível 11 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Michael Muniz
Michael Muniz

Pocket tens may not be Michael "Amtrak Mike" Muniz's best friend.

"Amtrak Mike" Muniz was taking his shot at a coveted gold bracelet after another 62 hour-long Amtrak journey to the WSOP from Queens, New York.

Muniz had an opponent all-in and at risk showing his {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} against Mark Bryan's {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}.

The {a-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds} board was showing and the {8-Hearts} river meant Muniz was not able to find his outs and was left with 9,000, helping Bryan's stack grow to 42,000.

Muniz shoved all in from the big blind in the very next hand.

Michael Muniz: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Opponent: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {j-Spades}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts} and offered no help and Muniz was out.

Muniz took it in stride as he shared that not only did he just now lose with and get eliminated against pocket tens, but he also got knocked out holding pocket tens just yesterday in the 1b flight.
