Martinet Nets Another

Johan Martinet
Johan Martinet

Johan Martinet continues to chip up and this hand was nothing new. After Felipe Ketzer had opened to 30,000 under-the-gun, Martinet called and Sandeep Pulusani completed from the big blind.

On a {4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop, Katzer continued for 80,000 before Martinet quickly raised to 300,000, which got the even quicker fold from Pulusani and Ketzer.

Mandic Finds Fortunate Chop

Nível 19 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Goran Mandic
Goran Mandic

Goran Mandic opened to 30,000 on the button and was faced with a three-bet to 125,000 from Kenny Hallaert out of the small blind. Mandic made the call to send the two players to the flop.

Hallaert continued for 85,000 after the {8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop and was called by Mandic.

Action checked through the {8-Diamonds} turn and the board double paired on the {2-Diamonds} river. Hallaert checked again and Mandic, after some consideration, followed suit. Hallaert showed down {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} while Mandic held {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. Mandic had found a lucky river card that saw neither player's kicker factor into their hand, resulting in a chop pot. The saying "everyone loves a chop pot" may not be the first thing to come to Hallaert's mind after that hand.

Fox Finds Value

Nível 19 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Elio Fox
Elio Fox

Kacper Piotrowski opened on the button to 30,000 and was called by Elio Fox out of the big blind.

Fox checked to the preflop raiser on a flop of {10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and called after Piotrowski continued for 40,000.

Both players checked through the {3-Hearts} turn to the {k-Clubs} river. At this point Fox took over the betting lead, firing off 40,000. Piotrowski thought for some time before making the call. Fox turned over {j-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for second pair, a hand his opponent could not beat and a good demonstration of Fox's ability to extract thin value.

Straight Flush for Spinella

Nível 19 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Anthony Spinella
Anthony Spinella

With 500,000 in the middle and a board of {6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{a-Spades}{9-Spades}, Jangkyu Lee sat contemplating his move for a few minutes before finally pushing all in.

Anthony Spinella snap-called and flipped over {7-Spades}{10-Spades} for a straight flush and a huge double up to over two million in chips. Lee showed {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for two pair but it was no match for Spinella's hit on the river.

Three-Way All In, No Eliminations

Nível 19 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Sonny Franco
Sonny Franco

Action folded to Kacper Piotrowski in the cutoff who announced all in. Ting Yi Tsai then re-jammed from the button. The small blind got out of the way but Sonny Franco in the big blind, who had the shortest stack at the table, announced he too was all in to set up a three-way battle.

Sonny Franco: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Kacper Piotrowski: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Ting Yi Tsai: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Tsai had both of his opponents covered so while overall Franco was ahead, Tsai was in a good position to claim a significant sidepot. The {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{j-Hearts} flop immediately changed matters, with Franco maintaining the lead but Piotrowski moving ahead of Tsai in pursuit of the sidepot.

Nothing changed on the {2-Hearts} turn or {7-Diamonds} river, giving Franco a full triple up while sending an even larger heap of chips Piotrowski's way.

Break Time

Nível 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

The remaining players have been sent on their last 15-minute break of the day. They will return to blinds of 10,000/15,000 with a 15,000 big blind ante. At that point play will continue for two more 60-minute levels before the survivors bag for the night.

Mulders Shoves River

Nível 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Daan Mulders
Daan Mulders

Daniel Smyth opened to 25,000 from under the gun and received a single caller in the form of Daan Mulders out of the big blind.

Mulders checked-called a bet of 35,000 from Smyth on a {q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades} flop to send the two players to the {3-Clubs} turn. Action checked through to the {6-Hearts} river, where Mulders tapped the table for a third time. Smyth threw out a bet of 75,000 and Mulders, pausing for a few moments, announced all in.

Smyth thought for a decent amount of time before letting his hand go, sending him slipping even further down the chip counts after what had been an excellent first half of the day.
