Weisman Winning Early Pots

Nível 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Dylan Weisman
Dylan Weisman

WSOP bracelet winner Dylan Weisman is on the uptick early.

With 1,100 in the middle on the {7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} turn, the action checked to the button who fired out 800. Only Weisman called to see the {6-Spades} river.

Weisman check-called a bet of 1,400 and the button showed {6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{x-}{x-} for two pair, eights and sixes, but Weisman had it beat with {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} for nines and eights.

The Champ Is Here

Nível 2 : 100/200, 200 ante
Josh Arieh
Josh Arieh

Josh Arieh, the reigning WSOP Player of the Year and winner of this event last year, is in the field.

There was 4,700 in the middle on the {4-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts} flop when Arieh check-called a bet of 4,000 from his opponent on the button.

The turn brought the {k-Hearts} and both players checked to the {5-Hearts} river. Arieh led for 11,000 and the button thought it over before tossing in a call.

The four-time bracelet winner showed {q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{q-Spades}{5-Diamonds} for a flush and the button mucked as he shook his head.

Today kicks off the first day of Event #45: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas. This event has been a staple of the World Series of Poker for years now and usually boasts one of the biggest non-no-limit hold’em fields that the series can offer.

Reigning player of the year Josh Arieh was the victor of this event in 2021, taking down his third WSOP bracelet and the first-place prize of $204,766. Last year, this event saw a total of 821 entrants take their seats and an even bigger turnout is expected this year.

Arieh is likely to fire this event, as are many other players such as WSOP bracelet winners Ryan Laplante, Maxx Coleman, Tommy Le and Ari Engel.

Play begins at 11 a.m. and the starting stack is 25,000 in chips. Blinds start at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. The levels on Day 1 will last 40 minutes each, with 20-minute breaks after every three.

Following Level 9 there will be a 75-minute dinner break, after which registration will close. Play will continue until the end of Level 17 when survivors will bag their chips for Day 2.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for all the updates from this event and every event from the World Series of Poker.
