Maria Ho Looks to Capture First WSOP Bracelet as Day 2 of the $500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold'em Begins at 12:00 p.m.

Welcome back to the 2022 World Series of Poker at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas. Day 2 of Event #43: $500 Freezeout No-LImit Hold'em begins at 12:00 p.m.

Day 1 saw a total of 4,786 entries, generating a prize pool of $2,010,120. Only 202 players remain as the day begins with all players guaranteed a minimum cash of $1,552. However, all eyes are on the grand prize of $241,729 and the WSOP gold bracelet.

Lorenzo Negri begins the day with an impressive chip lead, coming in with a total of 1,860,000, followed by Robert Pettit (1,590,000) and Peter Schneider (1,570,000) to round the top three. Poker professional and Women in Poker Hall of Famer Maria Ho also looks to capture her first WSOP gold bracelet as she starts the day with 565,000 in chips.

Blinds will begin at 15,000/30,000 with a 30,000 big blind ante and levels remain 30-minutes long. There will be a 15-minute break after every 4 levels and play will continue until a champion is crowned.

Moorman Picks Up Kings First Hand

Ronconi Gets a Double

Darryl Ronconi, who finished second in last year's WSOP Event #17: $1,500 Millionaire Maker for $500,125, is enjoying another deep run in a large field WSOP bracelet event. Action folded to Jongwook Lee on the button who opened. Darryl Ronconi in the small blind responded with a three-bet shove, which Lee, after some consideration, called to put Ronconi at risk.

"We're flipping?" asked Ronconi before the cards had been turned over.

The players were not in fact flipping, with Ronconi holding a fairly comfortable lead over his opponent. That lead only strengthened after the flop. No help came for Lee on the turn or river, handing Ronconi a crucial double up while Lee dipped below 1,000,000.

Luck is on Moorman's Side

Tytus Kalberer shoved for 575,000 from the cutoff before Mitchell Hecht reshoved from the small blind for around 1,200,000. Chris Moorman in the big blind considered the decision for a moment before announcing a call.

Hecht's pocket aces were a big favorite to take out Kalberer and double up off Moorman as the flop came . The on the turn gave Moorman additional outs to a straight.

When the fell on the river, the entire table let out a collective gasp as Moorman made his straight to knock out both players.

"Mr. Moorman. They told me you were good. They didn't tell me you were so lucky," tablemate David Perry said following the hand as Moorman stacked up more than 4,000,000.

Classic Cooler Sees Nguyen Chip Up

Adriano Scagnetti limped from middle position. Action folded around to Phong Nguyen in the big blind, who raised to 300,000. The limper responded by shoving and Nguyen snap-called.

It was an absolute cooler regardless of stack depth, though the current shallow average only made the sting worse for Scagnetti. The hand was not over yet, however, but the flop did keep Nguyen well in front. The turn and river bricked out to send a large pot Nguyen's way and eliminate Scagnetti in a cruel fashion.

Nguyen Keeps Finding Premiums

Nguyen had found yet another premium hand and was in a good spot to send one more opponent to the rail. The flop kept Nguyen ahead as did the turn. No help came for Genet on the river, ending his deep run. Nguyen, meanwhile, appears to have captured the tournament chiplead.

Ramirez Flops Quads; Eliminates Navarrete

James Ramirez raised in early position and Daniel Navarrete three-bet jammed for 1,235,000 next to act. The action folded back around to Ramirez as he went in the tank for about a minute. Eventually, Ramirez dropped some blue chips across the line to make the call.

Ramirez was in trouble until the flop came , giving him quads. The hit the turn, sealing the fate for Navarrete and the river was just a formality as Navarrete headed to the payout desk.

"Uncle Ron" Hinkle Triples; Covert Eliminated

Moorman Takes Huge Lead

A player under the gun opened to 300,000 and was called by the cutoff. Alexander Burton moved all in for 1,400,000 from the button only to see Chris Moorman re-jam out of the small blind. Both the under the gun and cutoff players folded and Burton was at risk.

It was a classic race until the flop put Moorman into the lead. Burton did have a flush draw but unfortunately for him the turn and river failed to improve his hand, sending him to the rail just shy of the final three tables. Moorman, meanwhile, has opened up a large gap at the top of the chip counts.
