It is time for one of the most anticipated events of the summer in the 2022 World Series of Poker with the start of Event #42: $100,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em (Eight-Handed). The tournament begins at 3:00 p.m. local time and is sure to bring out all of the brightest stars in the world of No-Limit Hold'em.

Last year’s version of this event, drew 64 entries to make for a prizepool of $6,192,000. At the end of all the action, it was Michael Addamo who conquered yet another impressive field to win the nearly two million dollar top prize as he continued his absolute domination of the high roller NLH world. Addamo beat Kevin Rabichow heads up after Sam Soverel had been dispatched in third after holding the chip lead three-handed for a while.

Better Kicker for Oya

Nível 1 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

In a blind-on-blind battle, action was picked up on a flop of {4-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Masashi Oya led for 3,000 and Dan Smith called in the big blind.

The turn was the {6-Spades}. Oya bet 6,000, Smith called. The {8-Diamonds} filled out the board and both players checked it.

Oya tabled the {k-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for fours and eights with a king kicker, which was the difference as Smith flashed the {4-Hearts} but presumably a worse kicker as he mucked the other card.

Von Kriegenbergh Four-Bets

Nível 1 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

From the cutoff, Masashi Oya raised to 6,000. Dan Smith three-bet on the button to 21,000. From the small blind, Taylor von Kriegenbergh sat back and thought for a while before announcing a four-bet to 66,000.

Oya checked his cards again before folding and Smith quickly relinquished his hand as well.

Heath Bets Out Deeb

Nível 1 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On a flop of {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, Freddy Deeb bet 13,000 from the big blind and Ben Heath called in the cutoff.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} to double pair the board. Deeb led again, this time for 20,000. Heath called again.

The river was the {3-Diamonds}. Deeb checked it, Heath made a near pot size bet of 64,000. Deeb thought for about 20 seconds before folding.

"You are only betting a jack there right?" said Deeb after the hand. "It was either a jack or no jack" Heath responded.

"Did you almost call him with ten-nine there" added tablemate Jason Koon to Deeb with a smile.

Petrangelo Attempts a Bluff in His First Hand

Nível 1 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Nick Petrangelo, Seth Davies, and David Peters are the latest to join the field, bringing the total entries up to 20 thus far. In Petrangelo's first hand of the day, he opened to 5,000 in middle position and Jason Koon defended from the big blind.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and the action checked to the {q-Hearts} on the turn and the {4-Clubs} on the river. Koon led out with a bet of 7,000 on the river and Petrangelo made a large raise to 68,000. Koon instantly flicked in a chip to call.

Petrangelo flipped over {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for all of the blockers but Koon still had the goods with {q-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a flush.
