Jensen Doubles Through Ivey

Nível 8 : 5,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Taylor von Kriegenbergh opened to 30,000 from under the gun and Gregory Jensen just called from the small blind. Phil Ivey eyed up the two shorter stacks and announced all in from the big blind. Von Kriegenbergh quickly folded but Jensen called off his 285,000 just as fast.

Gregory Jensen: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Phil Ivey: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts} which provided no help to Ivey as he sent over a double up to Jensen.

Petrangelo Wins a Flip vs Schutten

Nível 9 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Brek Schutten opened to 30,000 in the hijack and Ben Heath called in the cutoff. Nick Petrangelo shipped all in for 405,000 on the button and only Schutten called.

Nick Petrangelo: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Brek Schutten: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The flop came {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{2-Spades} to give Petrangelo a couple of additional outs. The {8-Clubs} on the turn was a brick but the {a-Clubs} on the river was exactly what Petrangelo was looking for.

Soverel Leaves Schindler on Crumbs

Nível 9 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Jake Schindler raised to 35,000 in the hijack and Sam Soverel re-raised to 100,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Schindler called to see a flop of {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Schindler checked to Soverel who bet 55,000 and Schindler called.

The turn was the {a-Clubs} and both players checked to the {j-Hearts} on the river. Schindler moved all in and Soverel instantly called off his stack of around 250,000. Schindler tabled {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for trip jacks but Soverel had a full house with {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} in order to double up.

Lichtenberger Finds River King to Double

Nível 9 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Andrew Lichtenberger raised to 30,000 from the button. David Peters jammed all in to force Lichtenberger to put in his remaining 300,000 which he did after thinking for a few seconds.

Andrew Lichtenberger: {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
David Peters: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Lichtenberger would need to come from behind to survive. The flop came {8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. The turn was the {7-Hearts} to open chop outs and the river came the {k-Clubs} to hit Lichtenberger and give him the double.

Aldemir Gets It Done with a Min-Raise

Nível 9 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Nilesh Patel limped in from under the gun and Koray Aldemir raised to 50,000 on his left. It folded back to Patel who made it 175,000 to go. Aldemir called and the dealer spread the flop of {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}.

Patel led out with a bet of 195,000 and Aldemir used a time bank before pushing out a min-raise to 390,000, leaving himself with just over 300,000 behind. That was enough though, as Patel mucked his cards and Aldemir was awarded the pot.

Set Over Set Gives Yotsushika Huge Pot

Nível 9 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Action was three-ways on a flop of {5-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and a pot of 175,000 in the middle. From under the gun, Mikita Badziakouski bet 50,000. Stephen Chidwick called in the cutoff. Kazuhiko Yotsushika raised to 175,000. Badziakouski called and Chidwick folded.

The turn was the {j-Clubs}. Yotsushika led out for 225,000. Baziakouski thought for a while before sticking out a raise to about 700,000 which was close to covering Yotsushika who said all in to make sure and the cards were turned over to reveal the cooler.

Badziakouski had the {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} which was crushed by the {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} turned set of Yotsushika. The huge pot looked poised to go to the Japanese player barring the case five on the end which did not come as the {a-Hearts} rolled off on the river to package the largest pot of Day 1 thus far and send it to Yotsushika.
