Kornuth Doubles Through Sammartino, Set Over Set

Nível 6 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Chance Kornuth
Chance Kornuth

Chance Kornuth opened to 18,000 in the hijack and Dario Sammartino three-bet to 55,000 on the button. Kornuth responded with a four-bet to 123,000 and Sammartino jammed all in. Kornuth snap-called for his stack of 598,000 and the cards were tabled.

Chance Kornuth: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Dario Sammartino: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{4-Spades}, giving both players a set, leaving Sammartino drawing to just one out. The {9-Clubs} on the turn and the {q-Diamonds} on the river secured the double up for Kornuth.

"I didn't see the ace for a good amount of time," Kornuth pointed out.

Addamo Gets Some Back

Nível 6 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Three players were on the river with the board completed to read {8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Clubs}. From the hijack, Michael Addamo bet 22,000. In the cutoff, Masashi Oya raised to 58,000 while Talal Shakerchi folded in the big blind.

Addamo thought for a few moments before he called.

Oya showed the {a-Clubs}{j-} which Addamo had beat as he tabled the {q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and won the pot.

Lichtenberger Gets a "Bluff" Through

Nível 6 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Andrew Lichtenberger opened to 20,000 in the cutoff and was called by David Peters on the button and Chance Kornuth in the big blind. The flop came {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and the action checked around to the {4-Spades} on the turn.

Kornuth checked again and Lichtenberger threw in a bet of 18,000. Peters called and Kornuth got out of the way. The {a-Hearts} landed on the river and Lichtenberger announced a bet of 85,000 this time. Peters used one of his time banks and then came to the decision to fold.

"Bluff," Kornuth said as he pointed to Lichtenberger's cards.

Oya Collects Through Addamo's Call

Nível 6 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Action was joined on the river with the board reading {q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}. Three players were in the hand as Masashi Oya bet 134,000 into a pot of about 150,000 from early position. Dan Smith exhausted his 30 seconds before he folded.

Michael Addamo was under the gun and called after 30 seconds of thought.

Oya tabled the {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} which was good enough as Addamo checked his hand a few times and put his head in his hands, looking a bit dejected before mucking his cards.

Neymar Jr. Notches His First-Ever WSOP Cash in Event #41: $1,000 Super Turbo Bounty!

Nível 6 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Neymar Jr.
Neymar Jr.

A week ago, PokerStars Cultural Ambassador Neymar Jr. made his playing debut at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) when the Paris Saint-Germain's renowned forward entered Event #26: $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship.

He didn’t cash that tournament, but now less than a week later the soccer legend has notched his first-ever WSOP cash by finishing in the money in Event #41: $1,000 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold’em. In fact, he’s still in action as of this writing and you can follow his progress in our live updates here.

Funny story, when the money bubble burst and tournament staff was trying to verify the size of the field, players were asked to remain in their seats and spectators to clear the area. No doubt excited by the prospect of earning his first WSOP cash, Neymar was standing on the rail chatting with a trio of friends which included PokerStars Team Pro Andre Akkari.

A security member, diligent in their duty and unaware that Neymar was in action, strolled up and said, “Sorry guys, I gotta kick you out, you can’t stay here.”
