Davies Bets Twice to Get a Hecklen Fold

Nível 13 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Henrik Hecklen opened to 80,000 in early position and was called by Seth Davies on his left. The two players saw a flop of {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Spades} and Hecklen started with a check. Davies threw in a bet of 85,000 and Hecklen called.

The {6-Hearts} paired the board on the turn and Hecklen checked again. Davies announced a bet of 270,000 this time and Hecklen quickly mucked his cards.

Kornuth and Bonomo Out the Door

Nível 13 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Chance Kornuth jammed his 335,000 from the hijack and Ben Heath called in the big blind.

Kornuth had the {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}, trailing the {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} of Heath. The board ran out {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{k-Spades}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Kornuth was gone on the first hand of the day.

Justin Bonomo was also felted within the first couple of hands as his {a-}{10-} could not outrun the {k-}{k-} of Nick Petrangelo. The board ran out {j-}{j-}{3-}{6-}{8-} to end Bonomo's few-minute stay in the event.

Day 2 of Event #42: $100,000 High Roller Set to Begin at 12 p.m.

It will be a quick turnaround for the 23 players that bagged up chips at the end of Day 1 in Event #42: $100,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em. Just 12 hours later, they will be returning to the felt at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas for Day 2 as the action kicks off at 12:00 p.m. local time with plenty on the line.

The opening day of the event attracted a total of 52 entries that saw more than half of the field eliminated through the first 12 levels. Late registration will remain open until the cards go in the air today for any of those looking to make a last-ditch effort.

Masashi Oya bagged the largest stack of the day and will return with 2,765,000 chips in his bid to make a deep run. Some other notables that maneuvered their way through to Day 2 include 2021 WSOP Main Event champion Koray Aldemir (2,390,000), GGPoker ambassador Jason Koon (2,230,000), recent bracelet winner Dan Smith (1,590,000), and ten-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Ivey (1,410,000).

The field was littered with high-stakes poker pros and that trend is expected to continue over the course of the next two days en route to crowning a champion. The schedule for today indicates that they will play down to the final five players which should come rather quickly. The levels remain at 40 minutes in length throughout the tournament and the pace of play is expected to be lightning-fast with the ability to get all the chips in the middle from all of these players.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be on the tournament floor to bring you live updates throughout the day so be sure to keep it tuned in here.
