Lally Has Good Introduction to Draw Poker

5-Card Draw High

"This is the only one I haven't played. They didn't have it last year," Jaswinder Lally said holding up the plaque as the game changed to 5-card draw.

He raised to 25,000 from the cutoff and Naoya Kihara stuck in a tower of purple 5,000 chips for a re-raise to around 80,000. Lally called to the draw.

"This is a dangerous game," Lally said before announcing he was all in after the draw. Kihara, with 350,000 behind, spent several minutes in the tank, leaning back on his chair and re-checking his cards.

"Sorry guys," he told his tablemates.

Kihara eventually decided to fold and Lally showed him three aces. Kihara claimed to have folded three eights.

Walker Busts Flachsbart Out of His First Mixed Game Tournament

Nível 22

William Flachsbart

Big O

William Flachsbart raised to 38,000 and action folded around to tournament big stack Jorge Walker in the big blind.

"How much is it?" asked Walker as he eyed up Flachsbart's stack. "Alright, raise," which was enough to put Flachsbart all in.

Flachsbart called and cards were on their backs. Flachsbart had {a-}{k-}{k-}{9-}{5-} and was in good shape against the {a-}{6-}{7-}{10-}{j-} of Walker.

The board didn't care, though, and ran out {a-}{10-}{9-}{8-}{4-} to give Walker the jack-high straight and send Flachsbart home.

Just before the hand started, Flachsbart said, "This is the first non-Hold 'Em tournament I've ever played." Making it well into the money of his first dealer's choice tournament earned Flachsbart a hard-earned impressive payday.

Badeucy

Bradley Ruben bet after taking one on the first draw and William Lahti, who took two, called. Ruben stood pat and bet again.

Lahti once again took two and called before drawing one. Ruben stood pat and bet out for the third time.

Lahti, with only a few chips behind, looked around and started counting the number of players left in the tournament before announcing a raise. Ruben snap-called.

Lahti turned over {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for an eight-low and a Badugi, beating Ruben's 8-7 low and scooping the pot.

"I'm halfway back in business," the former big stack said after the hand.

Ruben Wins a Pot He Admits He Shouldn't Have

Josh Tabak: {x-}{x-}/{q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}/{x-}

Four players were in the pot on fourth street. Kevin Thomas bet, and was immediately raised by Brad Ruben to his left. William Lahti, Josh Tabak, and Thomas all called.

On fifth street, Thomas checked, Ruben bet again, and all three other players called once more.

On sixth, Thomas checked, Ruben bet, but this time only Tabak called and took the hand to seventh.

On seventh, Ruben moved his last 17,000 in blind and Tabak called.

"Aces up with a missed low and flush draw," said Tabak.

That was good enough to scoop the pot as Tabak missed his low as well.

"I know, I don't deserve to win that pot," said Ruben.

"Floor," yelled another player who mockingly agreed with Ruben.

"Hey lowlife," chimed in Norman Chad.

"Why did I look up when he said that?" laughed Ruben.

"You're over there criticizing, you were just down to the felt," as Chad pointed to his own wall of chips.

Lally Wins a Weird One

2-7 Triple Draw

Joseph Couden raised pre-draw and Jaswinder Lally three-bet out of the blinds. Before Couden could act, Lally tapped the table, signifying he was standing pat.

"I haven't acted on my hand yet," said Couden.

"Sorry, I was already standing pat," replied Lally.

Couden then decided to put in the fourth bet and Lally called.

Lally indeed stood pat, and so did Couden. Lally check-called a bet from Couden and both players stood pat on the second draw.

Both players checked and then stood pat again. On the final round of betting, Lally bet and Couden called.

"Eighty-six," said Lally. Couden tossed his cards into the muck before Lally opened {4-}{4-}{8-}{6-}{2-}.

"You had four-four," said a tablemate as the pot was pushed to Lally. Couden indicated that Lally's verbal announcement caused him to muck the winning hand, but with Couden's hand irretrievable Lally was awarded the pot.

Pot Limit Hold 'Em

Action picked up on the flop with a large pot of over 100,000 in the middle. Adam Friedman had checked from the hijack to Alfred Atamian on the button. Atamian put out a bet of 32,000.

Friedman slid out a stack of 25,000 chips that covered Atamian for about 170,000 effective.

"See, this game was in the muck. All of a sudden, Pot Limit Hold 'Em and we got action," said another player at the table not in the hand.

"Are those all greens?" asked Atamian.

"Yeah, I put you all in," said Friedman.

Atamian thought for a while with his tournament life at risk. After a couple of minutes, he decided to fold.

"Show him the {j-Hearts}{q-Hearts}, said a tablemate. No, don't show him. Don't show him the {2-Hearts}{4-Hearts} you sicko."

Friedman didn't show anything, just mucked his cards and added the chips to his stack.

Baduecy

Joshua Rhodes was all in pre-draw and found callers in Norman Chad and Maxx Coleman. Chad drew two, Rhodes drew two, and Coleman drew one. After the draw, Coleman bet 10,000 and Chad check-raised to 20,000. Coleman called and Rhodes was left to watch the side pot build a he was all in.

Both Chad and Coleman drew one, while Rhodes still drew two. Chad bet 20,000 and Coleman called again. On the final draw, Chad stood pat while Coleman drew one and Rhodes drew two again.

Chad bet 20,000 and Coleman went into the tank for about a minute. Chad slid out his now-infamous "bluff" chip. Coleman folded shortly after.

"No bluff," said Chad.

"Please tell me you have a three-card," said Rhodes.

"No, six-six," said Chad, and showed {6-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} for the winner to scoop the pot and send Rhodes home.
