Five Ways To Draw Phase, Katz Doubles Through Bonyadi

After Farzad Bonyadi opened to 40,000 from early position, four people called: Katz in the highjack, Seiver in the cutoff, Andrew Kelsall in the button and Pedro Bromfman completed from the big blind.

Bromfman drew three, Bonyadi one, Katz, one, Seiver two, and Kelsall one.

After a check from Bromfman, Bonyadi moved all in for 400,000. Cary Katz called all in for 145,000 and the other players folded.

Cary Katz's was good enough to double through Bonyadi, as well as collect 40,000 from the other three players in the hand.

Dzivielevski Puts Kelsall to the Test

Andrew Kelsall opened to 45,000 in the hijack and Yuri Dzivielevski three-bet to 135,000 in the cutoff. Kelsall called.

Kelsall stood pat and Dzivielevski drew one.

Kelsall checked and Dzivielevski announced "all in", barely covering his opponent's stack of around 490,000. Kelsall thought for some time, but ultimately, sent his cards into the muck to concede to the Brazilian.

After Eli Elezra opened to 40,000 from early position, Cary Katz called from mid position. Action folded to Pedro Bromfman in the small blind and he pumped up the action to 250,000. Elezra called and Katz folded.

Both players stood pat and checked. Bromfman's was good enough, as he took down the sizeable pot.

"Even money. It's a six or an eight," remarked Hellmuth as he slowly peeled his card. He revealed his card to Kelsall before checking it himself.

"Good game," Kelsall broke the news, as the paired Hellmuth to send him to the rail.

"Good luck everybody," Hellmuth said as he shook his opponents' hands and made his exit in ninth place for $31,796, putting his pursuit of a 17th bracelet on hold for another day.

Golden Nugget to Host $1,100 Buy-In, $1,000,000 GTD PokerNews Cup This Coming Weekend!

This summer, Golden Nugget Las Vegas will play host to the 14th Annual Grand Poker Series, which features 81 events and offers over $3 million in guaranteed prize money from May 31-July 3. One of those events is the $1,100 buy-in, $1,000,000 Guaranteed PokerNews Cup that will run from June 24-28.

The tournament will feature three starting flights beginning with Day 1a at 11 a.m. PT on Friday, June 24. Days 1b and 1c will take place at the same time on Saturday, June 25, and Sunday, June 26 respectively. The surviving players from each flight will return at Noon on Monday, June 27 to play down to the final table, which will play out at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28.
