Kenny Hsiung: {x-}{x-}/{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} - Folded on Fifth Street

Kenny Hsiung completed and was called by Jeff Madsen and John Holley. Action checked to the latter on fourth street and he bet. Both opponents called.

Holley fired a second barrell on fifth street which folded out Hsiung but Madsen stuck around. Madsen called another bet on sixth street and then bet again on seventh street after Holley checked.

Holley ended up making the call, but immediately wished he didn't.

"I knew I should have folded," he said, after seeing that Madsen had made an eight-high straight and seven-five low.

Papastratis caught an ace on fourth and bet out, followed by three calls. On fifth street, Hsiung was first to act and checked. Papastratis bet 100,000, Bunch called all in for 75,000, Holley folded, and Hsiung called. Papastratis then bet the remaining streets and Hsiung called it off.

Hsiung showed first and revealed aces and nines for high. Papastratis was second best with aces and treys and mucked his hand. Bunch then showed kings up and a flush draw before squeezing his final card, the {q-Hearts}, which didn't help him to end his run in ninth.

"You need a low," Jon Kyte correctly stated pointing at Kangasvieri's board.

Will Jeff Madsen Capture Bracelet #5 Today? Tune In To Stud Hi-Lo from 1 P.M. Onwards

Jeff Madsen
Jeff Madsen

Out of a field that once sported 471 hopefuls, only fifteen remain after two days in search of WSOP immortality, the coveted bracelet, and the bragging rights that go along with it. Those left in Event #36: $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo, the lowest Stud-8 events on the 2022 WSOP schedule, will be playing down to a winner.

Each of them has already locked up a portion of $5,297 out of the total prize pool of $628,785, but all eyes are locked on the first-place prize of $135,260 that awaits the winner at the end of the night.

The biggest name left in the field is undoubtedly Jeff Madsen. The four-time bracelet winner's last victory is already seven years ago, but returning third in chips on the final day, he finds himself in a great spot to try and join the likes of Jason Mercier, Brian Rast, and Shaun Deeb as a five-time champion.

Madsen will start the day with 1,340,000 in chips, slightly behind fellow bracelet winner Kenny Hsiung with 1,560,000 in chips. Both of them are dwarfed by Chris Papastratis, who amassed a massive 3,200,000 on Day 2 and will be the odds-on favorite coming into the final day.

The players will return to Bally's Events Centre on Saturday, June 17 at 1 p.m. PDT to battle it out for the first-place prize and WSOP gold bracelet. Play will resume in Level 26 with limits at 40,000/80,000 and an ante of 10,000. Make sure to stay glued to PokerNews as we bring you every scooped — and chopped — pot until a winner has been crowned.
