Negreanu Shortened Immediately

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 1,800 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

In one of his first hands since joining the tournament, Daniel Negreanu raised to 3,500 in the cutoff and was called by the small blind.

The small blind drew one, and Negreanu drew one.

The small blind then checked and Negreanu squeezed his new card with his others and bet 10,000.

The small blind gave it some thought then made the call.

Negreanu showed {8-}{6-}{4-}{4-}{2-}, while his opponent rolled over his bluff-catcher of {a-}{10-}{8-}{6-}{5-}, picking off Negreanu and leaving him short-stacked immediately.

Celebrations Encouraged as Dhaliwal Doubles

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 1,800 ante

Paul Dhaliwal was all in for around 12,000 and called by Brian Hastings and Ryan Lenaghan. Both Hastings and Lenaghan checked after the draw.

"King," Hastings announced.

"Ten," Lenaghan replied.

"Eight. Boom baby," Dhaliwal yelled as he tripled up.

"You're allowed to celebrate," tablemate Phil Hellmuth told him after the hand.

"It's encouraged, actually," Hastings added.

Musso Ends Bronshtein's Run For Another Title

Nível 8 : 500/1,000, 1,500 ante

Yuval Bronshtein won this event in 2019, but his chance of adding a second title to his resume just came to an abrupt halt.

Bronshtein moved all in before the draw for 12,600 and Vince Musso, a WSOP veteran with cashes going back to the 1970s, called in the big blind.

Bronshtein took three and showed {8-}{7-}, while Musso stood pat and showed {10-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}. Bronshtein made a pair of nines on the draw and quickly made his exit.

"No Gamble No Future"

Nível 8 : 500/1,000, 1,500 ante
Ren Lin
Ren Lin

Ren Lin raised to 2,500 under the gun and was called by Tom McCormick in the big blind.

Both players drew one and McCormick checked to Lin, who plunked down a bet of 6,400 with his trademark "no gamble no future" quote.

McCormick and the dealer were momentarily confused as the dealer tossed an 'all-in' button in front of Lin, who still had over 40,000 behind.

The mistake was corrected and McCormick then took a few moments before opting to fold.

Lin showed {x-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}, then collected his newly earned chips.

Hartzheim Halts Lang's Ascent

Nível 8 : 500/1,000, 1,500 ante

Mike Lang has built up one of the biggest stacks in the room, but his rise to the top of the leaderboard has just taken a slight hit following a battle against Mike Hartzheim.

Lang raised to 2,700 before the draw and Hartzheim called from the button, as did the player in the big blind. All three players took one.

Lang continued for 3,500 after the draw and Hartzheim quickly called, while the big blind mucked. Lang flashed a 10-low, but Hartzheim won the pot with his ten-eight.

Hall Takes Out Glaser, Lehr

Nível 8 : 500/1,000, 1,500 ante
Galen Hall
Galen Hall

Keith Lehr moved all in for his last 13,000 and was called by Galen Hall. Benny Glaser also called, leaving himself just a few thousand behind, and all three players took one.

Hall bet enough to put Glaser all in after the draw and the British bracelet winner committed the rest of his chips.

"Nine," Hall announced, showing a nine-eight. Glaser mucked, while Lehr showed {7-}{4-}{3-}{2-} as his first four cards before pairing his three on the draw to join Glaser on the rail.
