Michael Rocco
Michael Rocco

The 2022 World Series of Poker continues at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas as the final day of Event #23: $3,000 Limit Hold’em 6-Handed is set to begin.

The tournament attracted 203 total entries to create a $568,710 prize pool, and after two days of battle, only nine players remain for the third and final day of this event. Michael Rocco holds the chip lead after bagging 1,675,000 chips at the end of Day 2. Rocco is a WSOP Circuit ring winner and has already cashed in 37 WSOP events, including a recent final table in Event #12: High Roller No-Limit Hold'em 8-Handed, but will be looking for his first gold bracelet in a stacked field of WSOP champions.

Some other notables to keep an eye on as the day unfolds include bracelet winners Jeremy Ausmus (1,170,000), Andrew Kelsall (1,145,00), and Shaun Deeb (715,000), who will try to add a fifth bracelet to his collection, as well as Gabe Ramos (1,100,000) and Mike Lancaster (970,000).

The action will get underway at 1 p.m. local time with the start of Level 21 and limits of 25,000/50,000, leaving not much room for the short stacks to play around.

The final nine have already secured at least $11,980 for their deep runs, but of course all have their eyes on the $142,147 top prize and the prestigious WSOP bracelet.

The levels will continue at 60-minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every two. Here is a look at the chip counts for the start of the day. A redraw will be done at 7 players for the unofficial final table.

Kevin Erickson
Kevin Erickson

Kevin Erickson was in the hijack and Zachary Grech in the cutoff and the two had capped the raises preflop. The flop came down {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Grech bet with Erickson raising all in, which Grech called.

Kevin Erickson: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Zachary Grech: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

The turn was a {2-Diamonds} and the river a {10-Diamonds}, which was no help for Erickson's overcards. Grech's pocket eights were enough to win the pot.

Grech Chips up off Deeb in Back to Back Hands

Nível 22 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Zachary Grech
Zachary Grech

With Shaun Deeb in the small blind and Zachary Grech in the big blind, they saw a flop that came down {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Deeb bet and got a call from Grech.

A {k-Spades} showed up on the turn which Deeb once again bet and Grech called.

The river was a {5-Diamonds} and both players checked. Grech showed {a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for trip aces and Deeb showed a {k-Hearts} but not his other card.

In the next hand, with Deeb on the button and Grech in the small blind they were heads-up to see a flop. The flop was {9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Grech check-called Deeb's bet.

The turn was a {j-Hearts} and Deeb bet again. Grech raised and sent Deeb into the tank for a minute before he finally decided to fold.

Robert Como Eliminated in 7th Place ($15,730)

Nível 23 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Robert Como
Robert Como

Robert Como raised in the cutoff and Jeremy Ausmus sent a three-bet from the big blind. Como made the call. The dealer fanned a flop {10-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Ausmus led out with a bet, called by Como.

All the chips went in the middle on the {3-Clubs} turn. Ausmus bet again and Como raised. Ausmus responded by a re-raise, putting Como at risk for his last chips, and the latter called all in:

Robert Como: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Jeremy Ausmus: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Como was drawing dead, facing a set in Ausmus's hand, and departed in seventh place for $15,730 after the {4-Diamonds} completed the board.

The action started with a raise from Jeremy Ausmus in the cutoff, followed by a three-bet from Andrew Kelsall on the button. Gabe Ramos announced a four-bet from the button. Ausmus tanked a minute and let it go, before Kelsall pushed his last chips in the middle. Ramos completed and they revealed their cards:

Andrew Kelsall: {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Gabe Ramos: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Kelsall's hopes for a double were stopped on the flop as the dealer fanned {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{j-Hearts}, giving a full house to Ramos. The {2-Diamonds} turn and {10-Hearts} river were just a formality and Kelsall made his way to the payout desk.

Mike Lancaster: {a-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Jeremy Ausmus: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

The river was the {a-Diamonds} which gave Lancaster quad aces for the win.

"My mates will like that one!" said Lancaster as he stacked his chips.

In a battle of the blinds with Michael Rocco in the small and Zachary Grech in the big, it was heads-up on the river with a board of {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades} showing.

Rocco checked to Grech who bet and sent Rocco in to the tank before finally calling. Grech flipped over {8-Spades}{9-Diamonds} which made a straight to the nine and was good for the win as Rocco mucked his hand.
