Pillai Rivers a Flush

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The heads-up action was picked up on the turn. 125,000 had already gone in the middle, with the board so far reading {8-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

Shankar Pillai, in the small blind, was the first to act. He fired another 125,000. Anthony Spinelli made the call from the big blind.

The {6-Hearts} river elicited another barrel from Pillai, this time for 275,000. After a few moments of thought, Spinelli reluctantly made the call. Pillai quickly showed him the bad news, turning over {10-Spades}{a-Hearts} for the nut flush. Spinelli mucked his hand as Pillai took down the pot.

Flores Busts Biddle with Queens Over Jacks

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Action folded to Nicholas Biddle, in the hijack. He moved all in. Action folded to Guilebaldo Flores in the big blind.

"How much?" he asked before making his decision.

"38,000," Biddle told him. Flores made the call, and the pair flipped their hands.

Nicholas Biddle: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Guilebaldo Flores: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

"You asked for a count with queens?" asked Biddle, rhetorically.

The {9-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Spades} board improved neither hand, ensuring that Flores' queens held, and Biddle was sent to the rail.

Lodge Hits on River to Double Up Through Berkey

Nível 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Matt Berkey moved all in from the small blind with 156,000 behind. He received his lone call from Harry Lodge in the big blind. While Berkey thought he had the effective stack, it was in fact Lodge's 126,000 representing the short stack. The players tabled their hands.

Harry Lodge: {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Matt Berkey: {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{k-Clubs}, giving Berkey a pair on the turn, but Lodge a bigger pair on the river. Berkey began getting up to leave before realizing he in fact had Lodge covered.

"He's still got half a blind left!" needled James Calderaro, who had folded preflop, sending himself and others at the table into uproarious laughter.
